This article explores the concept of the “connected worker platform,” emphasizing the “worker in the loop” approach. Within the framework of bottom-up management, this model seeks to empower daily operational teams by placing decision-making power in their hands. By coupling this approach with the tools and resources enabled by AI, particularly conversational AI, we can further democratize labor. This article will delve into the philosophy of bottom-up management and its implications for the democratization of labor. We’ll then apply this conceptual model to the operations of legal cannabis cultivation facilities, introducing the “GrowerInTheLoop” platform.

Thought-provoking talk today on 'Preparing UK policy makers for the age of AI' as part of Policy Festival 2023. Speakers were from Apolitical, Cabinet Office, Responsible AI Institute, and European AI Forum (EAIF). I've never attended a training session where the audience asked so many questions - and they were nuanced, astute questions too! Here are a few of the messages I took away: • AI comes in lots of different forms and has an enormous range of potential uses. You are already using it, whether you're aware of it or not, because it has been integrated into many commonly-used applications. • Within the boundaries of your workplace's policies (and in your own time), it's worth actively experimenting with it to start learning how to use it ethically and effectively - it will rapidly become part of daily life, just like social media. • Government is likely to develop its own AI in the coming years - to circumvent security concerns associated with third party technology, among other reasons. However, experience in other countries has been that it's not easy to get off the ground. • There are many issues global society has barely begun to grapple with in relation to regulation, preventing the technology from being used maliciously, and the environmental impact. • There is guidance available on the use of generative AI in government: https://lnkd.in/gwRKCxyF Civil servants can sign up to other Policy Festival talks here: https://lnkd.in/gUzG9SWX

We heard from a phenomenal set of speakers at our Data & AI Symposium. We sat down with our keynote speaker Lord Holmes, who is spearheading the UK's introduction of AI regulation. ⚖ For businesses who want to open themselves to potential customers, an 'inclusive by design' approach to data and AI, prioritising people and ethics, is the way forward. 📈 Find out how we're reimagining how enterprises approach to data: https://lnkd.in/e_9HT7-R

In 2023, fact-checkers detected and investigated 46.301 facts. 73% of those facts turned out to be false, potentially causing conflict and confusion on topics like Ukraine, Israel, climate change and space. Many harmful narratives were stopped dead in the tracks because of the tireless efforts of the leading fact-checking organisations worldwide. Read more here the highlighted fact-checks https://lnkd.in/d8sWyaVW Since many fact-checking efforts are fragmented, spread over 350 organisations and many languages, we in Factiverse are monitoring all these debunked facts in 40 languages in one place called Factisearch.ai. Our goal is to help media and finance to get an overview. Today, we have over 274.055 articles in our database, where 76% of the facts are defined as false or half-false and go all the way back to 1996. Check out the database/API www.factisearch.ai We have yet to truly measure all of the directly false and harmful information out there, and unfortunately, it is only increasing due to new advancements in AI. Malicious actors are actively using AI tools to create and distribute disrupting narratives. Yet, in many very serious cases of breaking news and manipulated images and videos, the only viable solution is the manual investigation of facts and human reasoning, no matter how smart AI is getting these days. In-depth investigations and human-in-the-loop are essential to build digital trust. Are you interested in learning more?
