Get to know Texas Health! Meet Amanda Pineda, B.S.N., R.N., PCCN, who recently began a new role as the hospital’s bariatric and reflux coordinator, after working as a charge nurse on the gastrointestinal (GI) team at Texas Health Arlington Memorial. Amanda is in our employee spotlight and talks about her new role and who inspired her to be a nurse. When asked what is your favorite part of nursing, Amanda said, “My favorite part is being able to help patients and provide them with the best care. Another part of the job I see now as an aspiring educator is really helping our staff by providing the education they need. There’s a lot of job satisfaction in helping patients and helping staff help patients.” We love supporting our employees as they grow in their careers at Texas Health! https://bit.ly/4cLLwwA #Get2KnowTexasHealth #EmployeeStory #EmployeeSpotlight #TexasHealthNurses #NurseResidency #NursingCareers

Our care teams are AMAZING! When staff in Texas Health Fort Worth's Interventional Radiology department learned a patient undergoing chemo was going to miss her high school graduation ceremony, they decided to bring the graduation ceremony to her. Lindsay Schofield, B.S.N., R.N., called the oncology floor charge nurse with their notion, and the idea quickly took flight. “A couple days later, I got a huge influx of emails from people I didn’t even know that were so willing to help and excited,” Lindsay said. “It was going to be something little and kind of cheesy just to try to make her smile, and it turned into this really big celebration for her.” Carrie Pape, a senior administrative assistant for nursing operations and oncology, helped spread the word among fellow AAs around the hospital. Before long, other departments were chipping in for gifts, writing notes of encouragement and congratulations and lending a hand. We're so thankful for our care teams and how they go above and beyond for our patients.
