The ACLU tracks the 494 anti-LGBTQ bills currently targeting these communities. There are hundreds of anti-transgender bills this year alone that aim to limit the rights of this population. In the spirit of making a tangible #impact, we are proud to share our guide highlighting the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQIA community. This resource is designed to help donors and allies understand the root causes of inequitable outcomes and outline opportunities to support change. 🌈 Explore the guide here: https://lnkd.in/eQsyuEm4 come together this #PrideMonth and beyond to create a more inclusive and just world for all. #GivingCompass #SocialChange #philanthropy #LGBTQIA #Rights #legislation #DonorEducation

A few words from our CEO about the significance of Pride Month.
For the 20 years we’ve been in business, The Knot Worldwide has supported the LGBTQIA community and advocated for marriage equality globally. Pride Month serves as a reminder of the many battles LGBTQIA people have fought for their basic rights. This struggle is far from over, with a growing number of legislative efforts worldwide threatening people who identify as LGBTQIA . Celebration is at the heart of what we do, but we understand that celebration must go hand-in-hand with action. We remain steadfast in our support for LGBTQIA advocacy organizations, including our partner, the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). This Pride Month, we’ve launched various internal events, both virtually and at our office locations, from volunteer initiatives to participating in parades and hosting educational sessions. Our brands have also created plenty of new content in recognition of Pride Month. A couple of my favorites in case you’d like to check them out… The Knot: https://lnkd.in/eBSDn2s3 Hitched: https://lnkd.in/eaAeqKGu I am excited to share a short video from last night’s Pride event in D.C. It was truly heartwarming to see our team members come together to honor the LGBTQIA community. There is always more work to be done, but I am grateful that the team at TKWW is dedicated to contributing to a more inclusive and equitable future.

During #Pride, the American Academy of Nursing reflects on our work to advance health equity for LGBTQ communities. Since last year, the Academy has signed on to 16 amicus briefs opposing restrictions to gender-affirming care. In addition to these policy actions, the American Academy of Nursing has publicly released our Policy Dialogue, “Nursing’s Responsibility to Our Patients and Our Profession: Countering the Attacks on Transgender and Gender-Diverse Health,” which is available to view here: https://lnkd.in/eVMSSEai

'I used the microaggressions campaign to help educate the wider team. It’s actually given me the empowerment when people don’t understand what a microaggression is or to call other people out,' says CSP member Sarah Griffiths. 'I think it’s really important to share the knowledge and...I do feel grateful that the CSP is starting to step into that space and promote it. Over the last year or so it’s been brilliant.' Hospitality industry stakeholders must recognize the evolving nature of modern parenthood and the impact of millennial parents in reshaping traditional family dynamics. Adopting an exclusive focus on catering to the conventional 2.4 children, heterosexual parent household is increasingly outdated. The caregiving landscape has undergone significant transformations, particularly with the increasing prevalence of LGBTQ individuals becoming parents, the rise of single-parent families, and the emergence of “blended families” comprising step-parents and/or siblings. A few words from my Travel & Hospitality Key trends for the year 2024.

This Pride Month, we stand united with the LGBTQIA community. We celebrate their resilience, their achievements, and their ongoing fight for equality. ✊ We're committed to creating a workplace that's truly inclusive, where everyone feels valued and respected for who they are. Here's how we're taking action: Advocating for LGBTQIA rights: We actively support initiatives that promote equality and acceptance for the LGBTQIA community. Educating ourselves: We're committed to ongoing learning about LGBTQIA experiences and identities. Challenging biases: We recognize that unconscious bias exists, and we're committed to creating a space where open dialogue and education can dismantle these biases. As Pride continues, let's all recommit to building a more inclusive world. #DiversityEquityInclusion #PrideAtWork #BeAnAlly

GA-SWOG recognizes, celebrates, and advocates for the LGBTQIA not only in June, but year round! Why is PRIDE important? Because according to The National Council: -Discrimination against LGBTQ people has been associated with high rates of psychiatric disorders, substance abuse and suicide. -Approximately 8% of LGBTQ individuals, including nearly 27% of transgender individuals, report being denied needed health care. -In mental health care, stigma, lack of cultural sensitivity, and unconscious and conscious reluctance to address sexuality may hamper effectiveness of care. -In a survey of LGBTQ people, more than half of all respondents reported they have faced cases of providers denying care, using harsh language or blaming the patient’s sexual orientation or gender identity for causing an illness. GA-SWOG joins other GA organizations to stand in solidarity with the LGBTQIA community this June. Happy Pride Month from GA-SWOG! #pridemonth #pride
This pride month, it is pivotal that we acknowledge that LGBTQIAP rights are very clearly under attack, pushing the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRC) to declare a National State of Emergency for LGBTQIAP youth and adults. 2023 was the worse legislative year on record for LGBTQIAP rights, with 500 bills being introduced across the United States. More than half of the bills introduced were anti-trans bills. 80 of those bills became law, including Senate Bill 140 in our own home state of Georgia. The impact of these bills are devastating, and the impact extends to the general society, not just the LGBTQIAP community. We encourage social workers to educate themselves, educate our wider communities, and to advocate for LGBTQIAP Rights! Utilize some of the resources on the HRC website to deepen your understanding and reach out to organizations in our state aimed at supporting LGBTQIAP people and their families! These include Georgia Equality, Georgia Health Initiative, PFLAG Atlanta, Lost-n-Found Youth, and more! We celebrate and advocate for love in all forms!🌈 and Happy Pride Month from the GSCSW! 🏳️🌈 #PrideMonth #InclusionMatters #SocialWorkPride

Did you know transgender adults with disabilities are 2 to 5 times more likely than cisgender adults with disabilities to have healthcare problems, like not seeing a doctor or dentist? Everyone should get safe and respectful healthcare. How you can help: • Share: Spread the word about these issues. • Educate: Ask for LGBTQ and disability training for healthcare providers. • Support: Back rules that make sure everyone gets fair healthcare. • Let's make a healthcare system that respects and helps everyone, no matter who they are. #Pride2024 #DisabledAndQueer #PacificADACenter
