I am thrilled to witness an unparalleled stride towards sustainability and energy security in Europe with the initiation of the 'Highway of Green Energy' project. This groundbreaking endeavour, connecting the Black and Caspian Seas through a 1200km cable, signifies more than just an engineering marvel; it symbolises a commitment to renewable energy, international cooperation, and a strategic pivot towards energy independence from traditional sources.
The challenges are many, from the technical intricacies of deploying the world’s longest underwater cable to navigating the complex geopolitical landscape. Yet, the potential benefits for energy security and sustainable development are immense. As we embarked on this journey in Romania, advancing solar PV and hydrogen technologies, the importance of visionary projects like this cannot be overstated.
