Did you know? To streamline the early phase of development and achieve greater data insights quicker, geophysical and geotechnical surveys can be commissioned together rather than individually. 🔎🌊 This session, presented by Rafal Libera, Business Development Director – Europe, will outline the challenges and provide an overview of the model that Acteon has adopted, incorporating soil sampling and geophysical methods, that enables the geophysical, geotechnical and environment surveys to be completed in succession within the same year. Watch the on-demand webinar to get ahead of the game in the race to the first electron⚡🌐 ➡️ https://hubs.ly/Q02yXGFw0

The makings of great new document for the assessment, investigation and mitigation of landslides. Pleased to see that the NZGS recommend the use of the IAEG C25 Guidelines to generate Engineering Geological Models for the evaluation of landslides. This follows the adoption of the C25 approach in two recent CIRIA documents- Geotechnical Baseline Reports and Natural slopes: condition, appraisal and remedial treatment. IAEG C25 Guidelines can be downloaded for FREE at https://lnkd.in/e3pEFs_E
The New Zealand Geotechnical Society has produced a fantastic new guideline (in draft), and will be asking for your feedback in the new year. If you need an excuse over the break to read something interesting, why not get in early? Many thanks to the team at Toka Tū Ake EQC for their support, and the authors including Richard Justice, Nick Peters, Don Macfarlane, Ann WilliamsNZ, Eleni Gkeli, Ross Roberts, John Scott, Kiran Saligame, Helen R. Sargent, Steve Crawford, Naomi Norris, David Stewart, Clive Anderson and Alan Wightman.

Drilling Solutions Advisor | Data Science & Engineering Analytics | Advocate of Drilling & Subsurface Data Clarity
We are transforming as an industry, poor data quality undermines our ability to perform at our best. This is a seminal paper from the SPE Drilling Data Quality and Uncertainty sub-committee. I hope this paper can share vital insights that mitigate risks and optimise drilling strategies to the widest audience at our ATCE. See you there!
The SPE sub-committee "Drilling Data Quality and Uncertainty Description" has prepared the paper SPE-214962-MS "Analysis of the Sources of Uncertainty in Geo-pressure Estimation while Drilling". The co-authors of the manuscript are Benoit Daireaux, John Macpherson, Harald Bolt, Philip Harbidge, Pradeep Annaiyappa, Jonathan Carney, Dr. Wael Ziadat and Michael Edwards. I will present the paper at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio, TX, USA on Oct 18 in the session 43 "Well Construction Integrity" (2:00 to 4:30 pm).

https://lnkd.in/dQiTp6f6 the sand with Dr = 0,36 that means, Relative Density 36%, shows 2 different behaviors changing the test device, shear box and triaxial cell, - is it possible ? NO - why it happens ? there is narrow shear band in the triaxial in which the gas expands ? - could we use geotechnical materials that are broken? NO the problem is relevat for hydraulic fracturing and gas entropy Camilla Stoltenberg Suzanne Lacasse NGI - Norwegian Geotechnical Institute
