At our annual main event, the PT1 Family Day VII, last Thursday, we gathered our portfolio founders, shareholders and selected ecosystem players for a day of captivating pitches, insightful keynotes and thought-provoking panel discussions as well as an evening of after-show drinks at the PT1 Clubroom. We discussed some of the biggest challenges and opportunities for the built world and its adjacent industries, whereby the #green transformation was a recurring theme throughout the day with pitches by companies such as Proptly on installing #renewable assets more quickly, NeoCarbon on Direct Air Capture for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, autarc on a better way of planning heat pump projects and Emidat on #climate intelligence for the #construction industry - all of which culminated in a keynote by Spiegel journalist and best-selling author Prof. Dr. Christian Stoecker on the topic of conflicting interests, media attention and disinformation around the green transformation, which is already much more advanced than you might realise. The day was equally characterised by the convergence of industries at the intersection of the built world - which is why during the last year, we have broadened our investment focus to include real assets like #energy and #infrastructure - discussing how venture capital, private equity, corporate players and debt financing need to find joint ways of financing innovation for a world with increasingly complex requirements. This industry convergence was exemplified by the presentation of our newest portfolio company Terra One, a pioneering tech #startup for AI-optimised #battery storage.
