As we hit the halfway mark in 2024, there are some exciting developments in the APAC cybersecurity industry taking shape. The demand for cybersecurity talent continues to grow, driven by several key trends: * Retail Industry Challenges: A recent Kaspersky report highlights that 37% of retail organisations in APAC suffered cyber breaches due to insufficient security budgets. This underscores the urgent need for skilled cybersecurity professionals to protect vulnerable sectors . * Automotive Cybersecurity Growth: The APAC automotive cybersecurity market is projected to hold the largest global share by 2030, with a CAGR of 16.4% from 2024. This growth is fuelled by increasing vehicle connectivity and production in countries like China and India, creating significant opportunities for cybersecurity experts. * Employee Cybersecurity Practices: A Proofpoint report reveals that 54% of APAC employees prioritise convenience over cybersecurity, taking risky actions to save time. This highlights the critical need for better cybersecurity training and awareness . * AI and Cybersecurity Skilling: Microsoft has announced plans to provide AI skilling opportunities to 2.5 million people in ASEAN countries by 2025. This initiative aims to build an AI-ready workforce and bridge the cybersecurity talent gap in the region. At TENTEN Partners, we are dedicated to connecting top cybersecurity talent with leading organisations across APAC. Our mission is to ensure businesses are equipped with the expertise needed to navigate these evolving trends and challenges. #CyberSecurity #APAC #Recruitment #Talent #Trends #RetailSecurity #AutomotiveSecurity #EmployeeTraining #AI #TENTENPartners

Although AsiaPac is a more mature market for us in the cyber space, we anticipate as the UAE's data privacy law (PDPL) matures alongside the cybersecurity framework, NESA will step up its enforcement efforts. Resulting in stricter scrutiny of cybersecurity practices, fines for non-compliance, and establishing precedents for handling cybersecurity incidents. To stay ahead, businesses must stay informed about enforcement trends and adapt their cybersecurity strategies accordingly.
