A very interesting session at WEF today where I got insights from President #zelensky, #ursulavonderleyen and others to get a better understanding of what Ukraine needs in terms of investment to strengthen the country. It’s not only about EU donations and investments and what the different countries can do, but also how the private sector can contribute. At the same time, it was exciting and enlightening to hear what initiatives and investments other companies are making in Ukraine. At Grundfos, we are proud to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in rebuilding the country, and investments from the public sector in collaboration with the private sector are the way to success. #wef24 #grundfos #ukraine

Today, as a participant at the United24 Summit “The power of unity” in Kyiv, I had the opportunity to hear assessments of the current situation in Ukraine in various fields from heads of the Ukrainian government, the SSU and the Ukrainian army. President Zelenskyy, Andriy Yermak, Mikhaily Fedorov, Kyrylo Budanov, Vasyl Malyuk, Oksen Lisovyi, Viktor Liashko and others spoke about the ongoing challenges. United24 is the main venue for raising funds for Ukraine in several areas: - Defence - Humanitarian demining - Medical aid - Rebuilding Ukraine - Education and science All of these areas were covered in the panels and discussions at the event. A lot of information, a lot of thoughts. I would like to share one with you from Andriy Yermak, who said something like: We are on a journey back 80 years. We see Ukrainian prisoners of war, emaciated to 40 kilos in Russian filtration camps. No International Red Cross there to help. We see Ukrainian children abducted to Russia and no international organisation to find them. We see the world community holding climate summits and talking about targets for the next 30 years and no international organisation to do anything about Russia's ecocide in Ukraine today. No one does anything against Russia, when it endangers the safety of Ukrainian nuclear power plants. International organizations have shown a complete inability to stop the aggressor. Every day Ukrainians are killed, raped, tortured, simply because they are Ukrainians. Schools, hospitals, villages and whole towns are being destroyed. Russia's unprovoked aggression against Ukraine has dealt a devastating blow to the rules-based international order. We must build a new one. /end What I also saw and heard at the summit: There is a network of good people around the world who support Ukraine. If you want to support Ukraine, in any of the above areas: u24.gov.ua I recommend the new project: "People donate, robots fight", see u24.gov.ua/robots_fight (And: Kyrylo Budanov smiles - sometimes. I saw it with my own eyes. But of course not as wonderful as Alyona Alyona. My son loves her…) #United24 #United24Summit #StandWithUkraine #Ukraine

#Slovak crowdfunders raised almost €2 million to help supply artillery ammunition to #Kyiv. Reuters reported on this. The Slovak “Ammunition for Ukraine” fundraising campaign emerged after the Fico government refused to participate in the #Czech government’s initiative to purchase hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds for #Ukraine outside the #EU. One of its initiators, 99-year-old journalist Otto Simko, said in the video that had launched the campaign that Russia had needed to be expelled from Ukraine so that “peace can be spoken of on terms that suit #Ukrainian independence”. “When I heard about the Czech government’s initiative, I was very pleased to hear that all ways are being sought to help Ukraine defend itself against the (Russian) aggressor, because there is no other way,” said Simko. Fundraisers say the campaign is aimed at showing a majority do not agree with the government’s shift in foreign policy since September’s election. The “Ammunition for Ukraine” drive had raised €1.94 million in four days. According to the initiative’s website, more than 30,000 contributors make an average donation of €64. According to the co-organizer of the fundraising campaign, Zuzana Izsakova said fundraising would be open-ended, with proceeds going to the Czech ammunition drive, from which the first deliveries to Ukraine were expected in June. As previously reported, the Slovak Prime Minister claims that his country has nothing more to give to Ukraine. Robert Fico emphasized that Slovakia had nothing more to give to Ukraine, criticizing the previous government for providing Ukraine with the S-300 system. He said he would never have done so. The Slovak Prime Minister also mentioned the joint meeting of the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine, pointing to the various forms of aid Slovakia provides to Ukraine, such as demining. At the same time, he emphasized that the conflict in Ukraine, in his opinion, had no military solution. https://lnkd.in/dwnze7QS

Small beginnings have the power to shape futures. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference. From my side I keep working on shaping the Future of Ukraine from different perspectives: my University group works on the new educational opportunities for the Ukrainians, my partners and I donate/buy cars/protection (forms, nets), I contribute as an expert to BRAVE1 (please apply if you have an innovative idea in Defence Tech which can help Ukraine to win!) etc etc etc. It would never be enough though. Only TOGETHER we can build things and create better future - not only for Ukraine, for the whole democratic and civilized World ♥️

When in doubt, ask US think tanks. US foreign policy is more often than not detailed in advance in think tank reports. Some reports are reactive, such as the example here. It was written because of everything that is going wrong for the US in Ukraine currently - a reaction and plea to keep the money flowing. And if you had any doubt that US support of Ukraine was anything else than self-interest, RAND is here to shatter the illusion. With phrases such as "continued assistance to Ukraine is critical if the United States is to retain its position as the world's indispensable nation and the many benefits Americans enjoy as a result", and "Continued U.S. global leadership would help shape international issues....in the United States' favor", RAND only confirms what many of us have been saying, for which we have been labeled anything from Putin fanboys to Russian trolls who spread fake propaganda paid for by the Kremlin. It's nice to know RAND agrees with us and admits that this war has everything to do with US hegemony. Good thing it's failing.
"Supporting Ukraine isn't charity. It is a way for the United States to reassert itself at a time when its influence is faltering. It is a golden opportunity to cement the support of U.S. allies and partners—its greatest advantage over Russia and China. Support to Ukraine isn't just a good deed, it's also a good deal."

Member of advisory committee of Europe Prykhystok took part in Ukraine recovery conference Stanislav Kutsenko took part in Ukraine recovery conference in Berlin on June 11-12, 2024 (URC2024). Among the participants of URC2024 were the top-ranking authorities of EU and Ukraine, delegates from USA and other states. Main issues raised at conference were economic recovery, growth and resilience of Ukraine. During conference it was great possibility to establish contacts with more than 50 new partners, particularly, in Germany and Switzerland concerning organizing further respite stays and transplanted classes for Ukrainian children. Certain mayors of European cities expressed their interest to host Ukrainian children in upcoming months. Most valuable was contact with Congress of German cities (Deutscher Stadtetag). Deutscher Stadtetag expressed strong support in activities of EP in building bridges of solidarity and organizing respite stays for Ukrainian children. Representatives of this organization plan to share information about Europe Prykhystok with its member cities. Additional subject of meetings was assistance in shelters construction near frontline schools and in unoccupied regions of Ukraine. Several potential donors from Holland and Germany expressed interest in recovery of schools. Such events are great possibility for EP to enlighten its initiatives to help Ukrainian children and establish more twinning between EU and Ukrainian cities and hromadas. #EuropePrykhystok #SupportUkraine #GermanCities #RespiteStay #Fundraising #CommunityBuilding
