Engineers Australia recently hosted a webinar named "How to Become a Chartered Engineer Information Session," which I attended. At the event, Jerry, Aaron Glaskin, and Paul Sloam were the three speakers. The topic of the webinar was very relevant to engineers, particularly with regard to career planning and gaining recognition in the field. The presenters made compelling cases for engineers who want to become chartered engineers and offered clear explanations of the concept of Chartered international standards of practise. Becoming a chartered engineer is a noteworthy professional achievement that can lead to future wage rises, worldwide opportunities, and industry recognition. Subsequently, the subject of chartered engineering was discussed, highlighting the importance of maintaining a comprehensive log of one's ongoing professional development. The presenters covered a wide range of topics, including how to effectively document CPD activities and why it's critical for engineers to have a robust CPD portfolio. It's a means to advance technical proficiency, increase output at work, develop as a leader, rise to obstacles, and, most importantly, have a good influence on the community. I would like to express appreciation to each and every speaker for sharing their thoughtful insights on this significant topic. Their expertise has clarified the requirements for becoming a Chartered Engineer and the importance of CPD in the engineering sector.

Professional regulators are sometimes forced to take aggressive measures to deal with unlicensed and illegal conduct. Recently, the PEO was succesful in obtaining a court injunction against a repeat offender, who was also ordered to reimburse us a large part of our legal costs in having to get to this point. #regulator #regulatoryaffairs #regulatorylaw #modernregulator #
The Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto has ordered AMR ADEL MOUSTA ROBAH, also known as AMR ROBAH, of Ontario, to refrain from holding himself out as a professional engineer and providing services to the public that only licensed professional engineers are legally permitted to perform. Project Engineer, Safeguard (Env. and Social) Practitioner, Procurement Engineer, Environmental Engineer
Attended an insightful webinar organized by ICE South East England - Early Careers Network on UN Sustainable Development Goals on August 16, 2023. Measuring the Ambitious Goals: Understanding how to measure the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), comprising 169 targets and 231 indicators, is essential. This comprehensive framework guides our global efforts toward a more sustainable future. To become a qualified Chartered Engineer, it's crucial to play a professional and responsible role in projects that support sustainable development and reduce resource demand. This responsibility extends across the entire project life cycle. Focus Areas for Civil Engineers: Civil engineers can make a significant impact in three unique areas: a. Carbon Measurement for Infrastructure: Implementing strategies to reduce carbon emissions in infrastructure projects. b. Enhancing Capabilities, Skills, and Codes Related to Carbon: Staying updated with the latest practices and codes related to carbon reduction. c. Adopting Carbon Systems Thinking: Considering the bigger picture of how carbon impacts various aspects of a project. One of the most important insights from the webinar was that sometimes, achieving one development goal can inadvertently compromise progress towards others. It's a reminder to always consider the broader impact on remaining development goals when working toward a specific objective. Let's keep striving for a sustainable and inclusive future! #SustainableDevelopment #SDGs #EngineeringForChange #ICE #SLAICE #lifeonpurpose with Charitha Handagala
