Monday, Labor Day, is a recognized holiday. The types of tickets that our contact center will accept by phone are limited to emergencies, damage notices, and second notices. Normal/routine locate requests, update/remark requests, and design tickets will not be accepted by phone on Monday, 9/2/24. Tuesday, 9/3/24, will be busy! To avoid longer than usual hold times, consider using our e-ticket platform to submit new requests online. Registration is quick and you can be using the platform within minutes. Yesterday, we joined Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) for a breakfast meeting focusing on the impact of excavation damages and MLGW's efforts to protect the infrastructure that more than 440,000 customers rely on everyday. It's always great to support our members and their important work.

There's a saying in the industry that, "safe digging is a shared responsibility." This weekend we shared that responsibility with neighboring 811's and pipeline operators at the annual Mid-South Farm & Gin Show in Memphis. It was great to talk to current and future members of the ag community about 811 and the benefit our service can bring to them as they work hard to put food on the table for all of us. Governor Bill Lee signed a declaration recognizing March 16, 2024 as "Tennessee Tree Day”. More than 6,000 TN residents are signed up to plant more than 87,000 trees across the state, and you can still join the effort! Hit the link for more info.
