Celebrating Juneteenth Juneteenth, celebrated annually on June 19th, marks the end of slavery in the United States. As I reflect on this significant day, I'm reminded of the journey towards freedom and the ongoing fight for true liberation. Here's how my family and I honor this day and extend its it's importance throughout the year: 1. Educational Legacy: We uphold my father-in-law's tradition of Juneteenth celebrations, emphasizing education over food. We ensure the next generation understands the importance of this holiday through storytelling and shared wisdom. I learned about Juneteenth not in a classroom, but from my Dean and father-in-law, highlighting the value of family education. 2. Challenging Norms: We continually challenge limiting ideas, habits, and beliefs that hinder our freedom. I believe in striving for abundance and not settling for less, inspired by my faith in a God of abundance. Challenging norms helps us create a more liberating and fulfilling environment. 3. Learning and Growth: We invite others on our journey of discovery, whether through visiting museums, reading, or studying. Embracing continuous learning helps us understand ourselves and the world better. Celebrating is important but we must do more and the more is a culmination of educating, challenging, and growing together (hope you enjoy my Juneteenth poem from last year Mosaic ERG program) 🌍✊🏿📚 #Juneteenth #Freedom #Education #ChallengeTheNorms #ContinuousLearning

Education is the pathway to empowerment as it gives us the tools to shape our destinies, make informed choices, and conquer life's challenges. Teachers are thus the pillars of progress as they cultivate curiosity, nurture critical thinking, and shape the leaders of tomorrow. 👩🏫 👩🎓 #education #teachersday #empowerment

CEO(A-League Consult) & President(African Chamber For Youth Development), Managing Director(Koforidua Clinic)
"Whenever you set out to do something unique or different or odd or out of the box or ‘impossible’ in line with your dream or vision, three things will most likely happen (based on my experience setting up the A-League Consult & African Chamber For Youth Development). 1. Some people will tell you in the face that “you are just wasting resources and that what you seek to do isn’t necessary”. Now when you are unperturbed and you still push your dreams into reality, then the second thing happens. 2. Some people will start mocking and making fun of your ‘little strides and efforts’ and do all manner of analysis on why you will fail. But if you keep pushing and then your dream takes full shape and you start flying and soaring, the third thing happens. 3. The same category of people in the first two scenarios will now become staunch defenders of your dream and will sing your praises. LESSON is that, you need to keep your focus and your eyes on your dreams and aspirations and not the opinions of people. The opinions of people can always change but your focus and commitment to pursue your dream and to work very hard should remain unwavering and constant." -John Appiah(CEO A-League Consult & President African Chamber For Youth Development) #Graced4Greatness
