Call for Proposals: Cooperation with the private sector on Sustainable Soya Production in Zambia The EU and Germany financed "Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems“ (SAFE) Project invites Zambian private sector companies in the soya beans value chain (preferably organic) to apply for our Call for Proposals. We are looking for partners to foster partnerships among cooperatives, smallholder farmers, and private companies to implement deforestation-free practices and pilot tools to meet the European Union’s deforestation-free regulation (EUDR) for potential exports to EU Markets. One of the challenges facing cellular agriculture is scaling production. Currently, it is expensive to produce cultivated meat at a scale that could meet the demand for meat. Researchers are working on developing new technologies and processes to reduce the cost of production, but it is still unclear when cultivated meat will be able to compete with traditional meat on price. Despite this challenge, cellular agriculture has the potential to make a real difference in the world. By producing meat in a more sustainable, ethical, and safe way, cellular agriculture can help to reduce the environmental impact of meat production, improve animal welfare, and reduce the risk of foodborne illness. Read how scaling can be addressed and what how collaborations between organizations and governments and research institutions, among other things, can contribute in particular. "Trust but verify" ... interestingly, this is the same standard I have proposed for Federal Australian Parliamentarians' and their politically exposed persons' disclosure obligations for trading in water rights, given the apparent sabotage of the reporting mechanism for trading in Murray Darling Basin water rights since the separation of water titles from land titles (commoditisation of water as a capital markets asset class). Given the constitutional implications of water rights in Australia and the implications for everyday Australians implied food security guarantee ... trust but verify, for all politicians who have served since at least 2008 is a fair standard. Interesting to hear PM Albanese spruiking his Irish-Australian credentials in a "me too" tour de force. Given the money laundering, human trafficking and asset stripping issues affecting Australia's water markets, impacting most heavily on Irish Australian dairy farming families ... I wonder if Albanese is inclined to enforce parliamentary disclosure standards dating back 20 years that is having an effect on loss of food security for millions of Australian families today? https://lnkd.in/g-nxwKa9
