Licensing portability will be a boon for virtual care in dentistry across the nation. This will enable dentists to provide care leveraging geographies and time zones. This will have a direct impact on reducing emergency room visits for non-traumatic dental emergencies. By providing quick access to a dentist, who accepts a person’s insurance, ER’s will be unburdened from these types of visits and cement the ability for dentists to provide care long after they retire from in person physical practice.
License portability is expanding to Colorado and Minnesota! This week, they became the eighth and ninth states to join the Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact. ADA President-elect Brett H.
