"Our own mind can be our best friend or our worst enemy." Watch Matthieu Ricard's full talk here: http://t.ted.com/83W2wza

Agree and people don't need mental health prescriptions. I changed my environment, left Now Orleans in 2005. I changed immediately. Facebook was triggering me so after six years I left. I adopted a dog and was content..Had a son my rainbow baby. Most people are over medicated. My mom has a mood disorder and we found out when my dad died.. I was misdiagnosed in 1993 because every psychiatrist was a man who didn't have a clue about postpartum depression. So they had one goal to medicate. I had no income so there's no medication for that. It took four years to get SSI and I had to go before a judge probably because they didn't think I had a big problem like my mom did. Like Gypsy Roses mom mine did that mentally. My late Aunt was a social worker and I am almost done with my psychology degree. I want to be a psychologist. I walked off high blood pressure medicine, eleven years ago. I cut people who are not going where I am off. My son is thirteen and I stay ready. I'm a walker and it's gotten me opportunities and threw difficult seasons. I chose to not be a statistic in 1993. I did my work decades ago. I don't allow my age or disability limit my ability and they know.i am the force and I set my course. The work is an inside job. They

I wholeheartedly agree with his words. It's astonishing how often we underestimate the power of the human brain. If we truly understood its capabilities and functions, we would prioritize learning about it in order to harness its potential. Instead of constantly seeking external solutions, perhaps it's time to turn our focus inward. By shifting our thought patterns, we have the ability to transform not only our own mood but also the world around us. The brain's incredible capacity for change and adaptation is a testament to the remarkable potential within each of us.

Comparison is the thief of joy. There isn't a second person in this world who thinks, acts, or feels the same way, so how could we compare ourselves to the unknown? When we embrace our uniqueness, and find strength in your individuality from within, that's where the true magic of peace lays. 🙌 ✨

He’s absolutely correct. The mind can create happiness or its absence. Our thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions can affect our emotional state and overall well-being. Be positive, practice gratitude, and be present. The mind is like software, you can choose to upgrade it or keep recycling the same program.

It’s vital to calm your mind into a bird passing seemingly across the sky is an art 🥰

Absolutely! The power of our minds is often underestimated. We have the ability to shape our thoughts and beliefs, which in turn shape our reality.

Our mind controls how we “feel” - it can give us great joy or sadness and drive someone to the worse place which many times ends in suicide

Absolutely true! The dual nature of the mind can either uplift or sabotage us. How do we cultivate a mindset that serves as our ally rather than our foe? Practices like mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and self-compassion are crucial. What role do external factors, such as environment and relationships, play in shaping this internal dynamic? Reflecting on these aspects can help us harness the mind's potential for our benefit. #MindPower #MentalHealth #SelfAwareness

Perhaps start today with reframing the question of happiness from How can I be happy? to What can I do to make someone happy today? Do this everyday as a habit and happiness might just find you.
