Refining and accelerating the blind chase of wants. Let us forget all about the nobility of sacrifice, the bitter sweetness of unrequited love, the whole gamut of emotions that shape character, the joy of giving, the peace of contentment, the selflessness that makes us humane and human, and be selfish and chase our wants. Let us celebrate the one act for which we bear no responsibility whatsoever - our birth. Let us eradicate the word ‘humility’ from our vocabulary. And incidentally, those who wish to build a hospice might not be doing it ‘selfishly’. It does appear that the esteemed presenter has been spared until now, the curveballs of life. TED. Is this what the world really needs? We have enough of it already.
so true! Every one of us needs the force to overcome routine, and get out of our comfort zone. Imagine that with this behavior change we all could build the society we dream of and solve the big challenges we face in our world today!
Not completely agree, Isn't the comfort zone also a refuge zone. Whatever we do in our life we should be constantly moving and our environment perhaps does it or reminds us of it. If I had to use a metaphor, it's a bit like a car race, it doesn't matter if we win it or not. We learn and at the next car race we will be enriched with experiences. But we may go off the road before we need to stop (comfort zone...a bit obligatory). Getting rich for me also means understanding that the pressure of car racing is not an end in itself, you can slow down so as not to miss the important things. Because getting rich also means being interested in what you risk missing! But we must also understand that this should not lead to routine!

We don't give ourselves enough credit, but we've been stepping out of our comfort zones most of our lives, sometimes begrudgingly. From making new friends to finding new interests, we've often found them by stepping out of our comfort zones. As we grow older, familiarity becomes comforting, but stepping out of our comfort zones can feel overwhelming. To step out of your comfort zone regarding something, you can ask yourself, “What is the worst that could happen if I do this?” Maybe it’s just that you may be slightly uncomfortable for a bit. Then ask, “What’s the best thing that could happen?”
