Before co-launching Asian Girls Ignite, I had no idea that this important work could be a full-time opportunity for me. Thanks to the Moonshot edVentures Fellowship, Colorado Asian American and Pacific Islander girls and gender-expansive youth have access to a space where they feel seen, heard, acknowledged, empowered, and united. The work we did in the Fellowship not only helped me fulfill the dream of starting this non-profit, but it also helped me dive deeper into how the identities I hold positively and directly impact my leadership. Moonshot believes that if we invest in a community of local, historically marginalized leaders, and support them to design and launch learning models that look dramatically different and are tailored to meet the needs of students and families, we can transform outcomes for students who are marginalized by our education system. From now until November 10th, Moonshot is running their first ever giving campaign called Funding Our Future. Moonshot has big dreams for not just the organization’s future but that of educators and our students. Your support would help give Moonshot permission and flexibility to support more Fellows, like me, in new ways, experiment with programming, and push the envelope of what’s possible. Any amount makes a difference. For example: - $5 covers the cost of print supplies for one workshop - $100 pays for a youth coach to support Fellows during workshops - $500 provides a tuition scholarship for a new Fellow What’s even more exciting is that a few generous supporters have promised to match donations for up to $10,000 -- meaning anything you give between now and November 10th is doubled! Your support makes a difference in the present and future of education. I've already donated. Will you join me? Non-profit director, science educator, and conservationist with 25 years of experience. Passionate about team-based conservation using science, education, and advocacy to achieve successes on the ground.
The Moscow Mechanics Robotics Club is a community club. After being sponsored by a local school for several years we decided to transition to this model for several reasons. 1) independence: a 501(c)3 non-profit organization was already in place to receive donations and apply for grants to grow our tool box and infrastructure; teaming up with the school had great benefits (space, promotion to interested students) but it did present an additional layer of administration that made it difficult to flex and pivot as young organizations need to do and are good at doing; 2) access: as an independent community club we are now able to host open house invites and invite the general public; we can also provide one of the best STEM education programs to a wider swath of kids; and we have a much larger pool of parents to pull from when recruiting new coaches; 3) cross pollination: small NGOs thrive off of cross-pollination, the act of working alongside or in proximity to other organizations and businesses with the knowledge that "good things" will emerge. These synergies are not always known but they can be seen as shadows of possibility. We are now being housed at Jubilee School, a community-based educational endeavor like us. The good things have just begun for us there and we should have exciting announcements and events coming your way before too long. https://lnkd.in/gg3hr8km

Founder/CEO of mugachild.org Talks about #Startups, #Philanthropy, #cs, #Charitywork, #Education #Health and #Wealth
It's heartbreaking to witness the desperate, unmet need for a school which could provide a solid foundation both educationally and socially, in a safe and stimulating environment. This type of foundation is most effective during the primary years when children are still impressionable and hungry for knowledge and social experience. And so it became my dream to see this school become a reality. The goal is to educate the whole child, providing hands on experiences to assist in developing social skills of friendship, empathy and other core values as well as academics. I truly believe a primary school will shape not only the child’s future but also the future of the country. The funds we are raising are to build and furnish a six classroom structure. The school will include a cafeteria, which can serve as an auditorium, the school will teach Computer Science (CS) and Co-curricular activities to the children, The school library will also allow hours for community use, since there is no available library for children in the community. The work has already begun! Will you help me complete it? We're looking for a total of $100,000 and we're encouraged by the support we have already received, but we still need help reaching our fundraising goal. You can give mugachild.org/donate GoFundMe campaign https://gofund.me/c4e94b1f PayPal account - [email protected] - $10,000 get a classroom named in your honor. - $100,000 get a school named in your honor. - $5 can't leave figure the same, every little bit helps. It would also mean a lot if you could share our fundraiser link on social media. The more exposure we get, the faster we will reach our fundraising goal. Thanks You can learn more about us mugachild.org #BuildASchoolForTheNeedy #InvestInEducation #HelpTheOrphans

Okay, so I have a lot of favorite parts of the Space Gala, but having a space to share the biggest wins of Reinvented Magazine each year is definitely in my top 5. In 2023 alone, my team and I… ⭐️ Got free print and digital resources into the hands of over 117,000 students and teachers ⭐️ Reinvented Magazine alone was read by over 32,000 students ⭐️ Our Princesses with Powertools Program grew like CRAZY! We attended 13 events and taught over 3,200 students how to use a powered hand drill in a single year! (We only taught 850 students in 2022 so this is HUGE) ⭐️ Our calendars are currently hanging up in 1800 classrooms and are seen by over 80,000 students each school day. Role models matter, they give girls a space where they feel welcome and safe in STEM. And I’m honored and proud to play even this small part in bringing the next generations of girls in STEM actual female and non-binary role models in engineering and science. 2023 was one hell of a year (and it’s not even over yet) but I think 2024 is going to be even crazier. 🚀 If you’re looking for an impactful way to celebrate #givingtuesday consider making a donation to @reinventedmagazine which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working on open up STEM education access for girls worldwide. (Plus your donation is tax deductible!) Here’s how you can donate: 1️⃣ Directly through this link: https://lnkd.in/g77qX3c7 2️⃣ Donate to @ reinventedmag via Venmo #givingback #givingtuesdaynow #givingtuesday2023 #holidays #holidayseason #giveback #stemeducation #stem #steam #womeninstem #girlsinstem #girlsintech #womeninspiringwomen #womeninscience #womenintech #womeninspiringwomen #womeninconstruction #girlsleadstem #girlpower #reinventedmagazine
