In moneycontrol.com’s recent article, Sylvain Duranton, MD and Senior Partner and Global Leader, BCG X, and Nipun Kalra, MD & Partner and India Head, BCG X, share their perspectives on the adoption of generative AI by businesses. They reveal that only 10% of companies have scaled their generative AI investments from proof of concepts to production in 2024 due to high costs and ROI uncertainties. Despite this, 75% of companies are experimenting with the technology. The expectation is to rise to 30-40% by year's end. They emphasize that while AI costs are high, largely due to data and GPU usage, companies need to strategically use advanced models.
