I’m a big fan of reflections and as Juliet Pawlak can attest, many of our conversations start with ‘so I’ve been reflecting…’ Taking a moment to reflect on our thoughts and experiences can be incredibly valuable. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, I try to focus on what we've learned and what other dots we can put together. So next time you feel a little lost, take a walk outside and sit with your thoughts. You might be surprised at the insights you gain. #selfreflection #mindfulness #personaldevelopment

This is a revolutionary paper that highlights the impact of self-determination theory concepts such as locus of causality, motivational orientation (intrinsic versus extrinsic), and need satisfaction, among others, on the ability to change and sustain behavior change. If you have goals you’re working on right now but are having trouble figuring the out the “how to”, consider giving this a read. To follow-up: Are the goals that you have based on the pursuit of meaningful, higher-level self-growth or are they based in societal or self-imposed contingencies of worth? Something to think about.

"From a very young age, many of us are conditioned to focus on our development areas over our achievements." When we think of self-improvement, we tend to focus on our weaknesses. But that means we often underestimate our strengths — or even don’t recognize them at all. In this article, the author explains why we’ve developed this focus on weakness, and she then lays out a program for identifying and developing our strengths, with a particular focus on natural abilities that we might take for granted and therefore overlook https://lnkd.in/dGuVH_6a

Here is a powerful exercise from author, James Clear: Look back ten years and you can probably identify a few blind spots or mistaken beliefs you held at the time. Now, fast forward ten years from today... what are likely to be your current blind spots? What are you not spending enough time thinking about or perhaps even willfully ignoring?

What do you know? Balancing the known and unknowns can be a challenge. How do your knowns line up with your unknowns? Knowing what you do and don't know can help you get the answers you need by aligning the right questions. The "known unknowns" category is about acknowledging and being aware of our limitations in knowledge, which can guide further inquiry and research. On the other hand, "unknown unknowns" represent the challenges of dealing with the unexpected and unforeseen in our pursuit of knowledge and understanding.

It may sound simple but it is very important to make sure we comprehend the question, issue, problem or challenge at hand before attempting to solve it. Without a clear understanding of the question, our answers and solutions may be incomplete or miss the mark entirely. #understanding
