Why smart marketing operators should hire a fractional analyst (or team). 1. It's cost-efficient. A typical jr. analyst with 2-3 years of experience can run $80-100k in the US with an additional 20-30% for benefits. This can scale higher for marketing/data science roles. A fractional analyst can be a "fraction" (pun, sorry) of that. 2. Flexibility Scale up support when you need it. Scale down support when you don't. 3. Access to expertise Fractional analytics teams are more than just one person. Depending on what you need and when you can access a wide array of skills. Not just a single jr. analyst. So, depending on the current project, you can tap into: - marketing science - data engineering - analysis - bi and reporting - etc. It's likely that these folks have solved similar problems with other clients, so the time to value can be faster. 4. Up-and-running faster No HR/company onboarding is required. Typically, with a contract, data access, and business context, the fractional team can be up and running in weeks rather than months. 5. Upskill your internal team You can use fractional analysts to train your team. -Bring in a fractional expert. -Learn the methods. -Scale them down when your team is ready to run on their own. 6. Testing w/o the hiring commitment You may want to test a new role, but hiring a full-time person is a significant investment. Hire incorrectly, and it could take months to terminate and replace that person. A fractional analyst lets you test with a smaller budget and commitment. 7. Your internal team can focus on the core business Data teams are often stretched across departments internally. Marketing, finance, and ops are all reaching for the same resources. Skills: Strong experience with agile and lean startup product management processes. Working knowledge of AdTech and MarTech in the context of D2C products. Entrepreneurial drive and ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to coordinate delivery across different groups and levels in the organization.
