🎉 A new research paper, titled 'Revving up energy autonomy: A forecast-driven framework for reducing reverse power flow in microgrids' has been recently published in 'Sustainable Energy, Grids and Networks', as part of the work conducted in BD4NRG and CRETE VALLEY! 👉 A forecast-driven solution to the microgrid’s shiftable loads scheduling problem, which is flexible in terms of RES and shiftable loads considered. 👉 Two Deep Learning forecasting models to predict the PV electricity production and the microgrid consumption. 👉 A heuristic forecast-driven algorithm that schedules the Electric Vehicle charging sessions so that the Reverse Power Flow is minimized. 👉 A rule-based method that automates the charging and discharging of the batteries when appropriate. I am happy to share that my latest research paper, "A predictive tool for power system operators to ensure frequency stability for power grids with renewable energy integration," has been published in the Elsevier Applied Energy, a top-ranked journal with an impact factor of 11.2. Following are the highlights of the research work: 1. Power system inertia estimation in a real-time environment with minimum data. 2. Frequency nadir estimation using multi-regressed models based on system inertia. 3. Estimation of optimal reserve power for PV and BESS for frequency stability. 4. Dynamic adjustment of PV suboptimal operation. 5. Frequency response controllers for PV and BESS and an optimal load-shedding strategy.
