Exploring different NB-IoT deployment options? 🌐 We are gathering the main differences and advantages of in-band, guard band, and stand-alone deployment modes for a better overview 👇 𝗜𝗻-𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. In this deployment model, NB-IoT operates within the same spectrum as existing LTE networks: 👉 It transmits NB-IoT data using unused resource blocks in the LTE frequency. 👉 In-band deployment lets network operators use their LTE infrastructure for NB-IoT, saving money. 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Guard band deployment involves using the guard bands, which are the unused spectrum between two adjacent LTE bands: 👉 NB-IoT operates in these guard bands, ensuring minimal interference with the primary LTE services. 👉 This method is beneficial when LTE spectrum gaps exist and guard bands can be used for NB-IoT without compromising LTE performance. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. In a stand-alone deployment mode, NB-IoT uses existing idle spectrum resources: 👉 The maximum level of isolation ensures that NB-IoT traffic does not interfere with LTE services and vice versa.
