I’m delighted to announce that I’ve joined the New Climate Ventures team full-time, here in Houston, and am looking forward to investing in more game-changing climate tech startups. I first met NCV’s founding partner, Eric Rubenstein, in 2023 as I prepared the Texas Climate Tech Collective’s report on Houston’s climate-tech startup scene. I admired what he - and Matt Arnold, Donald Kendall, and Jonathan Greene - were building: a broad-based decarbonization fund, with investments ranging from materials (e.g. CarbiCrete ) to software (e.g. Calyx Global ), and early breakout successes like Syzygy Plasmonics and AIR COMPANY . Even better, they’re headquartered here in Houston, the world’s legacy energy capital and (increasingly) where climate hardtech comes to scale up. I’m looking forward to adding to our 26 existing investments (generally, at the seed stage). Feel free to send great companies my way. And again, thanks to Cascade, whose flexible fellowship allowed me to start working with NCV part-time dating back to February - it’s been a great experience. Finally, thanks to the NCV team for bringing me aboard, and looking forward to continuing to build the climate tech ecosystem in Houston and beyond - now as a fund investor.
