ITS NO WONDER THAT INDIA SUCCEEDS IN REDUCING EMISSIONS RATE BY 33%. INDIA HAS THE LARGEST SOLAR PARK OF THE WORLD AND OUT OF 10 LARGEST SOLAR PARKS IN THE WORLD, 4 ARE IN INDIA. The Bhadla Solar Park is a solar power plant located in the Thar Desert of Rajasthan, India. It covers an area of 56 square kilometers and has a total installed capacity of 2,245 megawatts (MW), making it the largest #solar park in the world as of 2023. The park contributes to India's #renewable energy goals and helps reduce #greenhouse gas #emissions by an estimated 4 million tons per year. The park has also created about 10,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction and operation. The Pavagada Solar Park is in the Tumkur district of Karnataka, #India. The 2.05 GW facility spans an area of 13000 acres. NP Kunta Ultra Mega Solar Park, situated in Nambula Pulakunta Mandal in the Kadiri Division of Andhra Pradesh. The plant has a total plant capacity of 1500 MW, but it operates at a capacity of 978 MW. Kurnool Ultra Mega Solar Park, located in the Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, south India, with an operational capacity of 1GW (1000 MW) of energy each year, the solar park saves an estimated 1,892,160 tonnes of CO2 emissions. India Approves 57 Solar Parks with 39.28 GW Capacity. Nine parks have been fully completed, and eight are partially complete. India’s Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy and Power has informed that the installed #renewable #energy capacity in India has increased from 115.94 GW in March 2018 to 172.00 GW in March 2023, i.e., an increase of around 1.48 times.

2.2GW solar in India.. that roughly the same as a nuclear reactor in power generation capacity. All of that without claiming high value land or wasting huge amounts of water. Marking a significant milestone in India's solar journey, showcasing remarkable growth and progress in renewable energy adoption. In 2022, Modhera was declared India's first village to be powered by solar energy. Modhera, a village in Gujarat, enjoys round-the-clock solar energy. Spanning 12 hectares with solar panels and featuring rooftop installations on 1,300 homes, Modhera generates enough energy to power its 7,000 residents 24/7. Modhera is home to the sun temple built by Hindu worshippers 1000 years ago. Today the sun provides enough energy that Modhera can feed electricity back into the grid saving villagers up to 100 % on their energy bills. The project has three major components: a 6-megawatt ground-mounted system, a 15-megawatt battery storage system, and 1-kilowatt rooftop installations on 1,300 homes. Covering nearly 30 acres, these solar and rooftop panels generate more energy than the village consumes daily. Commissioned in 2021 at a cost of $9.7 million, the project was funded by the governments of India and Gujarat. Major Boost for Renewable Energy! Govt. has approved new Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) schemes to evacuate 9 GW of renewable energy power from Rajasthan and Karnataka. These schemes, part of the ambitious goal of 500 GW RE capacity by 2030 (with 200 GW already connected), will be implemented through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mode. The Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) will evacuate 4.5 GW of RE power, including: 🔋 1 GW from Fatehgarh Complex 🔋 2.5 GW from Barmer Complex 🔋 1 GW from Nagaur (Merta) Complex This energy will be transferred to Mainpuri Region, Fatehpur, and Orai in Uttar Pradesh. The scheme, costing around ₹12,241 crore, is set to be completed in two years.
