Exciting news for TAQA Arabia! We're thrilled to announce that TAQA Arabia and Voltalia has successfully signed a framework agreement with the Egyptian government for the development of a cluster combining renewable energy generation with green hydrogen production in Egypt. The signing ceremony took part during the the Egypt-EU Investment Conference 2024 held under the auspices of H.E. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and H.E. Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. The agreement signing ceremony was witnessed by HE Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, H.E. Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development. This agreement marks a significant step forward in developing renewable energy projects in Egypt. We're proud to be working alongside Voltalia, The Sovereign Fund of Egypt, Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) and NREA-EG to bring clean energy to the country. ☀️ The project will be implemented in two identical phases, each comprising a 500 MW electrolyzer powered by more than 1.3 GW of solar and wind energy. The facility will be located at a greenfield site near Ain Sokhna port in the Suez Canal Economic Zone and will have an annual production capacity exceeding 350,000 tons of green ammonia for each phase. This collaboration demonstrates TAQA Arabia's commitment to supporting Egypt's transition to a sustainable future. We look forward to sharing further details about this project in the coming months.
