As Chief Strategy Officer for the Global Network for Zero, Sarah is helping businesses accelerate their net zero commitments - with a focus on navigating Scope 3 emissions
Make sure to read Mahesh Ramanujam’s interview with Commercial Property Executive below! He discusses Global Network for Zero, why collaboration is vital for a sustainable and greener future, and what sectors are getting it right.
As the CEO of the Global Network for Zero, the world’s premiere net zero standards and certification body, Mahesh is leading the global decarbonization movement
Recently, I had the privilege of engaging in a conversation with Commercial Property Executive on Global Network for Zero and how we can collaborate effectively to reach a net-zero world. In the interview, I emphasize the need to urgently accelerate sustainable building practices to combat climate change effectively. It’s crucial that we embrace collective efforts and partnerships that drive the adoption of green building practices and other sustainable initiatives. Together, we can expedite the transition towards a zero-emissions future and create a world that is more environmentally responsible and resilient. Collaboration and unified action are essential in achieving our shared goal of building a sustainable and greener future for generations to come. With just under 2,000 days remaining to achieve the 2030 climate goals set by the World Green Building Council, our industry’s next steps in #BuildingtheTransition will be crucial in shaping the future. At the recent World Green Building Council Leadership Summit held at Sidara’s London Headquarters, 150 Holborn, 52 Green Building Councils and numerous built environment leaders from around the world convened to share ideas and create tangible impacts from the WGBC's strategy, which will bring us a step closer to the goals we're set to reach over the next six years. 37% of the world's emissions come from the built environment. Removing, or even significantly reducing this, will be no small feat to accomplish. As a host venue for the summit and active member, we recognize that our greatest opportunity to have a positive impact on the planet and in our communities is through the projects we touch. From large-scale solar farms in West Africa that dramatically reduce emissions to improving biodiversity at the first-ever on-site apiary at one of America's busiest airports, we are committed to delivering solutions that reduce emissions, protect biodiversity, and safeguard the place we all call home.
