Intern Highlight! Joseph Palmer is an intern for Pipeline Utilities who has already decided to come back next summer due to loving “the simplicity and the complexity” of utility construction. He’s working with our team on constructing a new sewer force main in Wendell Falls. His daily tasks are versatile, as he is trying out different duties and is “learning valuable pieces of knowledge and advice on site”. Education: East Carolina Construction Management Student Why Joseph loves working with us: “My crew has 100% put me to work. They have been vital to my success here so far and we all have created a very good relationship out on site and even outside of work. I feel my education has been really enhanced by this experience as I am learning things they don’t teach us in school.” Advice for future interns: “Make as many connections and ask as many questions as you can.” #Intern #PUI #LovingLife

We are continuing our Careers in Construction Month Series with a highlight of what its like to be a Project Engineer! Check out what Zachary had to say about his construction journey: 1. How did you get into the construction industry? I got into the construction industry at a young age. My parents were custom house builders so I was always around the building process and helping out where I could. It wasn’t until college that I knew I want to go into the transportation industry. Those classes at ASU were very interesting to me and eventually I got an internship with Pulice Construction, Inc. 2. What is something that you enjoy about the industry or about your position? My favorite thing about what we do is that everyday is different. There isn’t a single day that goes by that is identical. We are always trying to find solutions to problems or finding different ways to do activities more efficiently. 3. What advice would you give to someone interested in a career in construction? My advise to someone interested in the construction industry would be to spend a day shadowing someone to be able to see a normal life of a construction professional. #GreatPeopleBuildGreatThings #CareersInConstruction #ProjectEngineer #CivilEngineering #ConstructionInternships #Construction

Urban Infraconstruction LLC ; Investing for The Future to follow. As a parent of a son in his (near) mid 20s who has benefited from a Career Development Opportunity similar to this, I can personally say these opportunities that are surfacing at a rapid rate give legitimacy to the idea that beginning a career in the Construction Industry isn’t a fallback option and furthermore provides a sustainable career path that what some once considered/still consider a dead end. Traditional schooling still holds validity, I will never argue that. What I will say is that not everyone is cutout for “The typical”. I applaud 👏🏼 Urban Infraconstruction LLC and the many Universities & Players in this industry for opening a lane that has The World of Yellow Iron, Dirt, Concrete, roads, dams, bridges, etc. “sexy” once again. #careerinconstruction #uta #UTAArlington #internshipopportunities Justin Csader Urban Infraconstruction LLC #investinginthefuture
