I am excited to share that GFA Technologies in partnership with the State Government of Osun in southwestern Nigeria and with the support of Wema Bank Plc. has rolled out the Osun State Upskill Program for youths and SMEs in the State. Productivity is a problem across Nigeria and this problem holds true for Osun State as well. Boosting productivity requires a multi-faceted approach which must include a skill development program, access to capital and adoption of digital tools to help SMEs reach larger markets. With this in mind, the Osun State Upskill Program provides skilling opportunities, access to capital and very importantly, access to digital tools through GFA Technologies DIMP platform which allows SMEs to build thier own online stores with no technical skills. These online stores come with unique solutions such as scheduling features and payment features. The program will suggest up to 140 business skills that young people can monetize and expand access to markets to those already in the targeted industries. Not too long ago, GFA Technologies in partnership with the Ogun State Government, launched the Gateway Skills Program. The Gateway Skills Program aims to provide technology based certifications from market leaders like Microsoft, Google & Meta (Facebook) to 100,000 residents of Ogun State over an 18 month period. The plan is to launch cohort 1 with 10,000 participants, cohort 2 with 30,000 participants and cohort 3 with 60,000 participants. In addition, those that complete the programs and get certified will either get assistance with a remote job or their service will be put on a marketplace where they can sell thier skills across 29 countries. We believe that this program will transform the Lagos/Ogun/Oyo tri-state area from an economic and wealth creation perspective. Innovation is a global trend that tends to promote the well being of a societal growth! As part of a vision to enhance technological skills by the FGN for a sustainable development in our economy. Most 3MTT Fellows were present at  first #3MTTFCT meet to brace the event and to learn from technical experts ranging from scaling through the tech pathways excellently and as well gaining and maintaining a job placement. Most challenges faced in finding a niche in tech at an initial stage is very exorbitant and time consuming, the cost of purchasing internet data to accessing courses on the study web is on the high side, and also some fellows don’t have access to learning equipment devices such as laptops and taps. This tends to reduce the outcome of fellows fully engaging in the program. To deal with these challenges, there should be a designated ICT center such as an E-library where fellows can actually access all the mandatory courses.  Nevertheless, the program has help Nigerian youths in finding a niche in technology and enhancing their tech skills, and the goal is to achieve a sustainable career in tech to boost our economy.  Attached below is a footage of the first event of the 3MTT FCT meet held at the Public Service Institute Nigeria, Dutse Alhaji FCT. #3MTT,  #3MTTLearningCommunity,  #3MTTNigeria

📈 Digitalised over 500K Certificates Last week, we launched DiCert. DiCert is a Digital Public Good (DPG). DiCert allows certificates to be digitally accessible and verifiable and to print termly reports. This project, done in partnership with DSNai - Data Science Nigeria and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, places Edo at the forefront of certificate authentication and credentialing. Over 500,000 basic to secondary education certificates in Edo State from the year 2019 have been digitised. At the recent launch event, stakeholders from the Ministry of Education, Edo State, EdoBEST, private and public schools, and other key organizations gathered to learn about DiCert's features. Our team demonstrated how students can easily generate certificates, upload results, and address any concerns such as misspelt names and critical details. Parents, guardians and institutions can verify the authenticity of certificates with a simple process. We look forward to the positive impact DiCert will have on education in Edo State and beyond. Transforming Progressive Abia Youths through Digital Literacy: A Brief Success Story By Digital Ambassador David Chigbu: who recounts his success of a one-month digital literacy retraining program for Progressive Abia Youths in Abia State, Nigeria. The program aimed to enhance participants' digital skills and so as to open doors to opportunities. It began with building a foundation in computer fundamentals and internet usage, then progressed to exploring tools like Microsoft productivity software. Participants were empowered to seize these digital opportunities, fostering a collaborative learning environment where they shared knowledge and experiences. By the program's end, participants had transformed into skilled digital enthusiasts, showcasing the transformative impact of digital literacy. Day 3 of #lifeofanedutechfounder 💼 Yesterday I had a mentoring session with Mr Rasheed AbdulKareem, founder of D-Aggregate. He shared some of the lessons he has learnt over the years building his data aggregation company. He also gave examples of other Edutech founders like Bayo (Olubayo) Adekanmbi PhD who founded DSNai - Data Science Nigeria - how he recognized the untapped potential of a data science community in Africa. He also gave example of Tosin Eniolorunda, who founded Moniepoint Group out of the need to fix the payment system in Nigeria, after his work experience at Interswitch. My key takeaways from the session are: ✏️ have a product plan for the next 5 years ✏️ recognize the need for your venture ✏️ be well educated and prepared for the challenges ahead ✏️ aspire to build your product for millions, not even thousands He mentioned that having all these put in place would prevent discouragement along and the journey and piling of debts.
