[Breaking news] The first of 37 electric RE-IR train has arrived in Romania, as a part of the contract signed by the Railway Reform Authority with Alstom Ferroviaria S.p.A. & Alstom Transport S.A, in March 2022.   These more environmentally friendly trains will connect the capital of Romania with the main urban centers of the country, contributing to ensuring mobility, decreasing time travel, and improving the overall level of public services provided for public rail transport. The current project is part of an extended railway infrastructure development program financed by European Funds. In this contract, Egis is representing the beneficiary ARF (The Railway Reform Authority) and assuring the supervision services for the implementation of the purchase concerning the delivery of the new interregional electric trainsets, called RE-IR, and the purchase of maintenance and repair services necessary for the operation of these trains. ”This procurement involves expertise from countries where these types of trains are more commune. 🏗 Railway in the Gulf will be built by a consortium made up of German rail signalling and rolling stock manufacturer Siemens Mobility and its local partner Hassan Allam Construction, according to a new contract. 🚅 Built on the historic and strategic relations between the two countries, this major joint venture is an extension of the longstanding collaboration of Oman Rail and Etihad Rail, who both seek to create new prospects in the infrastructure, transport, and logistics industries by connecting the two countries via rail. The 303km line will connect Abu Dhabi to the Omani port city Sohar.🚊 In the future, the connection will improve the availability of transportation between the UAE and Omin and contribute to the faster development of the region. 🌍 #InvestInLuxury #Oman #UAE https://lnkd.in/egR8et7f

[Press release 📢] Our subsidiary Colas Rail and TSO, travaux ferroviaires have been selected in a consortium by SNCF Réseau for the mechanized renewal of ballast on the Atlantique Nord and Paris Sud-Est high-speed lines. Here are the key figures: ◾ Four firm years to modernise 209 km of track ◾ Three optional years for the remaining 222 km ◾ A total of 3,500,000 tonnes of ballast will be renewed over 431 km of track ◾ 150 employees, working mainly at night, and thirty machines The consortium will implement solutions designed to reduce the carbon footprint of its operations: carbon footprint measurement tool compliant with the global GHG Protocol standard, use of hydrotreated vegetable oil-based fuel, Start & Stop system designed to stop internal combustion engines when parked, low-carbon site facilities... With this project, Colas Rail is going to help improve regularity and increase the frequency of train movements on the French rail network.
