I just saw this interesting question from Simone Basso and wanted to share my perspective on it. In my opinion, your LinkedIn profile MUST reflect your CV. Why? 1๏ธโฃย No one can get access to your CV unless you first send it to them while your LinkedIn profile is public. If you play your cards right, it can catch the eye of hiring managers who might be interested in you (this is how I found my current job!). 2๏ธโฃ Some companies check LinkedIn first and ignore the CV, especially with the new generations of recruiters who find it quicker and more efficient. 3๏ธโฃ Employee branding is a real thing. Your future company can see a well-curated LinkedIn profile as a new channel to spread its mission and values. 4๏ธโฃ Having discrepancies between your LinkedIn profile and CV could raise concerns for employers (I'm sure Simone can confirm this!).
