Building Agribusiness Matters - Next Generation Gartner for Food and Agriculture Systems. 🌱 Subscribe at Agribizmatters.com
In the Agribusiness Matters Townhall, Chhaya Bhanti shared a beautiful anecdote of her interaction with an agroforestry champion. When she asked how many trees does he have, his response was the following: "I don't measure just the way I don't measure what I feed my sons, which son I feed more. I don't measure at all. Whenever you measure something you diminish its importance." At Agribusiness Matters, one of my main mission is to explore systems thinking in food and agriculture and this conversation with Chhaya was truly multidisciplinary in the truest sense of the word. It felt like a chicken soup to the soul. Link to the complete podcast in the first comment.

Senior Advisor Agroecology and Nature-Positive Rural Development bei Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
Agroecology is an integrated and holistic approach towards sustainable and inclusive food systems transformation and healthy food for all. But what does integrated and holistic approach mean? How can we make transformation a reality? Is it just buzzwords? With this publication we try to showcase with GIZ project examples that systemic change along the 13 principles of agroecology, making use of their potential of synergies, is possible. Making systemic change work in practice is a challenge to all of us - but it is a prerequisite to solving our multiple problems that are all interconnected. Let's start a discussion beyond buzzwords about how it can be done. #Agroecology #Foodsystemstransformation #Fromprinciplestotransformativepathways #Evidence #Integratedapproach #Thinkinginsystems Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ)
📢 New Publication! How can the 13 principles of agroecology be used to shape a pathway for food and agriculture systems transformation? If you asked yourself the very same question, have a look at our new Factsheet! Five project share their lessons learned and how they used the principles to define their pathway towards sustainable food systems transformation. From designing a systemic approach for food systems transformation to tailor a strategy which supports rural women to create community benefits, to cross-sectoral approaches to integrate biodiversity protection and its sustainable use into agriculture systems. Many thank to our colleagues from India, Mexico, Mali, and two global project for sharing your learnings and insights!
