𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸 In collaboration with JGMA, Syska Hennessy contributed to the creation of this vital health and wellness center in Brighton Park by providing MEP engineering services. The Esperanza Health Center, a two-story facility, with its distinctive bright orange, color-shifting metal panel façade, is not just a building; it symbolizes positive change and community support. The center offers high quality care and wellness services in its 48,500 square foot space, which includes 45 exam rooms, community youth group rooms, a teaching kitchen, and an imaging suite (X-ray, mammography, and ultrasound) and much more. Esperanza Health Centers mission is to deliver health and hope for Chicago’s underserved communities. Esperanza means hope, and this project truly captures that spirit and we were honored to be involved. #FlashbackFriday #MEP #Engineering #HealthcareDesign #Chicago

*Designing wellbeing: how better architectural approaches to hospital buildings can help patient recovery* The links between environment, mental health and physical health are now well-established. Yet traditional hospital buildings are designed with virtually no reference to the mental wellbeing of their patients. Too often they are functional, forbidding and detached from the natural world. It is commonplace for people to say they feel ‘depressed’ by the thought of hospitals and their associated images of windowless waiting rooms and long artificially-lit corridors. But why should it be this way? https://lnkd.in/gXWgMmmQ #WorldMentalHealthDay #mentalhealth #wellbeing #healthcaredesign #architecture #MakeRoomForNature Maggie's Centres Maggies Newcastle Alder Hey Children's Hospital

📘 Innovating Elderly Care: Unveiling Our Groundbreaking Project We are pleased to announce the completion of our three-year research project "The architecture of residential social services for seniors focused on the ergonomics of provided care". This initiative, a collaboration with Delpsys and APSS, was designed to revolutionize the way we build and renovate homes for the elderly. Our journey began with a simple yet profound goal: to increase the satisfaction of both clients and staff in residential social services. Our multidisciplinary team of social service professionals, psychologists, designers, and architects developed a unique textbook. This guide provides a comprehensive tool for evaluating the ergonomics of existing or planned buildings to ensure that they meet the nuanced needs of elder care. It is not just a book; it is a repository of recommendations and insights for designing spaces that promote individual care, psychological well-being, and active leisure for the elderly. The textbook, the culmination of extensive research and field studies, is now being launched and will be available soon. It is a testament to our commitment to improving the lives of older people and those who care for them. ➡️ The project "The architecture of residential social services for seniors focused on the ergonomics of provided care" (reg. no. TL05000226) was co-financed from the state budget by the Technology agency of the Czech Republic under the ÉTA Program. #ElderlyCareInnovation #ArchitecturalDesign #HealthcareRevolution

Designing for physical well-being🌿 While designing the first multispecialty hospital in an infrastructure-starved village, we strived to create a holistic healing environment that would make quality healthcare accessible to the locals while prioritizing the well-being of patients as well as the staff. Our design sought to channel natural light and air into the campus, reducing the risk of airborne infections in closed spaces: 1. In-patient and clinical spaces are oriented towards the north to receive glare-free natural light ☀ 2. The harsh south sun is cut off with deep, sloping overhangs 3. Continuous balconies are provided on the northern and southern edges of the building to channel winds inside 🍃 4. Air conditioning is limited to critical clinical spaces (20% of the total campus area), saving 50 watts of energy⚡per square meter, while also reducing the rate of transfer of infections Read more about the design at the link below: https://lnkd.in/d4vvcBNx #SJKArchitects #indianarchitects #healthcarearchitecture #wellbeing #architecture

My future of healthcare construction beliefs; I am excited to be part of the solution to one of America's most significant challenges: an aging population limping into retirement. At Richard Group, our integrated construction professionals are working alongside healthcare design experts to provide simple, dynamic solutions that expand the footprint of preventative care. #killthepill -This advancement and accuracy of wearables and home testing increases #healthspan and #lifespan, creating a happier and healthier world. We must prepare our buildings and structures for the next generation of 70, 80, and 90 year olds that is more mobile than ever before. - The future of healthcare design and construction is rapidly changing, and the pandemic has highlighted the need for innovative solutions to include connected wellness environments, increasing the ‘right’ human connectivity. Relationships are the greatest predictor of wholesome happy lives. We will build environments for storytelling and celebration. - Residential owners must plan for their own home adaptive reuse, providing essential medical utility and space for home care providers. Our parents and grandparents enjoy the comfort of their own home over outside care. We must build hardscape, landscape, and structure for the most purpose filled aging. - Community-based clinics will bring rapidly deployed docs and nurses to prefabricated environments, reducing the overall healthcare cost of mega hospitals through procedure typically performed in urban environments. At Richard, we are proud to be at the forefront of these changes in the healthcare industry. Join us as we work towards constructing a healthier America. #healthcaredesign #healthcareconstruction #healthcarefacilities #preventativehealth #healthcareinnovation #generalcontractor #healthcare

Interesting read on 5 year per SF costs on 3 story hospital buildings: https://lnkd.in/e_Sx3KiG National average increased by 19.9 % from 2020 with New York leading the way at $575.76 per SF (a 16.5% increase). With these lofty spends (which only seem to increase), predictability for pricing, budgets and schedules is extremely important. Multi-trade, modular construction can greatly assist with predictability in pricing and planning, be it ceilings, walls, or other products. We at #DIRTT pride ourselves on being one of the best #multitrade #modular investments to accomplish this goal, helping all stake holders save time and increase #ROI on a project delivery. Thank you Steve Kennedy for sharing this article.
