I would like to take a quick minute or two if this post pops up on your feed. If you don't know my role with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc., I am a staff consultant in the Water Resources practice in our Cincinnati office. I do a lot of work in AutoCAD Civil3D, ArcPro and HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS. One very important piece of software I use on a daily basis is the CivilGEO, Inc. software. CivilGEO, Inc. uses the USACE HEC-RAS or HEC-HMS engine, however its user interface is set up a lot like GIS UI. What makes CivilGEO, Inc. software useful in my work is that it greatly improves my efficiency. I can put AutoCAD civil 3D layouts and terrain files and/ or other shapefiles developed from GIS and overlay them in their GeoHECRAS/HMS program and analyze a river or watershed more effectively. The one part of their program I use the most is exporting shear and velocity particle tracing videos. I use these outputs in design analysis and presentations to clients or for internal review purposes.
