Autodesk Water Technologist for Storm Sewer and Flood | Expert in ICM InfoWorks/SWMM/Ruby | 18 Years at Innovyze/Autodesk | 51 Years with EPASWMM | Autodesk EBCS | SWMM5
Note: this is a modified section of the IFD help file dealing with what I like the best about IFD - EPASWMM5 Hydraulics and Hydraulic (SuDs, LID, WSuD, etc.) especially on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the USEPA. Here are some other reasons IFD is a great modeling program at Autodesk "In this video, we begin by highlighting how catchments or watersheds can be automatically generated using a surface model and assigned to drainage networks as part of a concept design in Civil 3D." InfoDrainage harnesses the power of SWMM5, version 5.2.2, renowned for its Dynamic Wave hydraulic routing. It's engineered specifically for Stormwater Control analysis, adapting SWMM5's Catchment LID methods for enhanced precision 🌊. SWMM Engine in InfoDrainage: This engine is a cornerstone in hydraulic analysis, developed since the 1970s under the stewardship of the US EPA. Recognized globally, it's known for simulating both water quantity and quality with extensive validation and testing 🌐. Enhancing 'Green' Infrastructure Analysis: Standard SWMM 5.2 effectively simulates 'gray' infrastructure (like Pipes/Channels) but only approximates 'green' solutions (SuDs, LID, WSD, etc.) as hydrological elements impacting inflow. InfoDrainage takes this further by integrating advanced Stormwater Control Analysis on top of SWMM5's Catchment LIDs. This allows engineers to accurately place and analyze these systems, evaluating factors like travel time, depth, volume, infiltration, and pollution removal 🌿💧. Integrated Methodologies for Comprehensive Analysis: Alongside SWMM5's robust engine, InfoDrainage incorporates standard runoff and rainfall methodologies. This fusion enables quick comparisons across various storms and approaches, providing a comprehensive view of water management scenarios ⛈️. User-Friendly Interface and Expertise: InfoDrainage presents this sophisticated combination in an intuitive graphical interface, making design and analysis seamless. Users benefit from decades of SWMM development and Autodesk Water's expertise in hydraulic simulations 🖥️📊. #InfoDrainage #IFD #SWMM5 #autodeskemployee #Autodesk_Water #EPASWMM
