If you know me well enough, I'm sure you would agree that I have a twisted sense of humour, be it dad jokes of the standard variety to dark comedy 😬 This means I appreciate good humour in all forms and respond to it very positively. Having said that, I’ve never pondered upon the impact of humour on the effectiveness of the campaigns that we do up until yesterday. Of course it goes without saying that humour is not for everyone, but why not embrace it more often especially when statistics have shown a positive correlation between humour and business results for brands? Here are some interesting insights on humour, sourced from Kantar's 2022 edition of "Who's Laughing Now" as presented by Mandie Van Der Merwe, CCO of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia at the 4A’s Sri Lanka Advertising Festival 🔵 90% of the respondents said that they are most likely to recall a funny ad 🔵 91% of those surveyed want brands to be funnier 🔵 80% say they are most likely to recommend a funny brand 🔵 72% say they would choose a humorous brand over competition 🔵 11 pts increase on Kantar's Distinctiveness measure I think we could all do with a little more laughter in our lives, so as marketers why not bring it back to the work that we do? 😊 #marketing #humour #4aaf

Fun @ Advertising Agency There are some interesting meanings and expansions to agency names. Some have funny acronyms, some have hilarious twists Like During our bachelor days, and in those times, we were so happy hanging around at office that our office became part of one of our basic needs. i.e Roti, Kapda aur McCann. While BBDO had a famous acronym dedicated to the owners, it also had one for one of the senior CDs. It was Babul Banerjee Delhi Office. And long back Ogilvy was also called the mantra of advertising, OM While we all know advertising is not all about truth. It’s also about some harmless lies packaged and sold well. And every agency finds a better beautiful truth to sugarcoat the lies. Hence we had Jhoot Well Told. Also JWT was known as “Just Went to Taproot” for very obvious reasons 😊 And very recently I had the privilege of cracking this code ! HTA JWT WT VML = Has The Advertising Just Witnessed The Wonderful Times Vanish Media Land ! BBH I feel wants to convey that the logo you’re seeing is not a goat but a sheep. 🏦 澳洲国民银行: More than money." The entire ad revolves around the theme of "efficiency," whether it's driving a falling-apart car or chasing a house. It emphasizes the efficient utilization of every penny and every minute. This ad by TBWA perfectly fulfills the client's requirements. 😀 Advantages The overall performance in the TVC is satisfactory. It starts with a suspenseful opening: why is the driver so calm when the car is falling apart, and why Sarah is chasing a house? It sparks curiosity and engages the audience. ☹️ Disadvantages The Small Business plot is disappointing, merely using growing green plants to imply business growth, leaving viewers puzzled. This part serves as a transitional element; removing it would enhance the overall ad. 😆 Overall, it's mediocre, but TBWA\Australia's distinctive style is evident: 6.5/10.

Check out this amazing TVC I led my awesome team at SO&U to execute. For those who are not aware, I am a storyteller and my favourite part about story telling in brand management is the process of creating a series of plot twists to build an emotional connection between a brand and its target audience. In this case, the brief was simple "Happy memories start with Bruhm" and my approach was experiencing the art of living with Bruhm-a symphony of sophistication and innovation. Creating happy memories with loved ones with the premium products range. A lot of workkkkkkkkk goes into TVC production but that is a story for another day. I am glad everything was worth it in the end and most importantly, the client was elated with the final cut. My favourite scene here was when the FitFam couple couldn't resist eating jollof rice at midnight. Now the question here is, what jollof is irresistible enough to forget your FitFam journey?
