Summertime is travel time! 🌞 🏖   This is the busiest time of the year at Zurich and Geneva airports. We have been making extensive preparations for this year’s peak travel season. You can play your part, too, in ensuring a smooth travel experience. Here are some tips: 📱 Download the SWISS app. You will then receive push messages directly to your phone on any change of your flight’s departure gate or any delay. 🎫 Check in for your flight online before leaving home. The online check-in service can be used within 24 hours of departure via SWISS app or swiss.com. 🛄 Check your registered baggage in at the airport the evening before your flight, make use of the AirPortr service or check in at one of the departure airport’s self-bag-drop machines. 👜 Make your carry-on baggage as light and easy-to-handle as possible. 💊 Be sure to put personal items such as valuables, passport and any medicines in your carry-on baggage, along with any devices such as mobile phones, tablets, power banks or e-cigarettes. ⏲ Check on the latest status of your flight and for any schedule changes on swiss.com before leaving for the airport. 👮♀ Allow sufficient time for check-in, security and passport control at the airport. I like the idea of "self-bag-drop machines" but I fail to find these at the Zurich Airport. You can print your bag label there or at home, but you still have to wait in line for an agent to weigh the luggage, check your passport etc. and lastly you have to haul your bag yourself over to another agent to "drop" it. I don't really see an advantage in this process for the passengers, really.

Suggestion: put aside some money for a lawyer. Swiss does not follow Regulation (EC) N° 261/2004. Our long haul flight was cancelled few ours before departure and we have not seen a single euro from them.

Und wenn es zu einer Flugverspätung kommt, keine Reaktion seitens Kundenservice- inzwischen ist der Fall vor Gericht- schade um das renommierte Unternehmen.
