Fractional HR 🤝 | Building HR Departments for Remote Start-ups 🌍 | Talent Partner 🧲 | People Partner 📢 | Professional Leadership Coach 🎓
The power of employer branding, when executed correctly, in attracting and engaging active and passive candidates is impressive⚡. But whose responsibility is it to manage employer branding🤔? Well, after defining the strategy and communication pillars, I think it's everyone's role🤝. Imagine you're about to purchase a product🛒. How do you make the choice? It’s a no brainer, right? You likely recall some brand names from various commercials you've seen. You start researching each brand, comparing benefits, seeking recommendations from real users, and then make your choice. It's the same with recruitment. Real people are drawn in by real people doing the work👤. So your best advocates are not your HR team members, but your employees. But how can candidates choose your company if they cannot find any/enough information about it❓ When your employees share🗣️ on social media what they love about the company culture, real examples of how their managers handle delicate situations, or stories of personal and professional growth, the company gains recognition in the market👀. When the company website showcases real pictures of people at work, relevant information about the company culture and what makes it stand out, and blog posts featuring authentic stories, it will help candidates understand if your company aligns with their interests🚦. And those who resonate with your environment might be attracted to the company even before actively looking for a job. Investing in employer branding does take time, but the results will be worth it💯. When your HR team posts a job ad and receives high-quality applications/connection requests without any outreach, you'll be grateful you did the work🌱. #EmployerBranding #CompanyCulture #SmartRecruitment

🚀 Employer branding versus recruitment marketing: Is there a difference? Employer branding shapes the identity of an employer – its values, culture, and the employee experience. I think of it as the way someone answers when asked ‘What’s it like where you work?’. It’s the sum of everything you do as an organisation - good and bad, intentional or not. Everyone in the organisation creates it. And employer branding is not only for attracting candidates, but for retaining employees too. Recruitment marketing targets potential candidates, with a focus on specific roles. It’s a mix of digital content and in-person experiences - tactics that get the (good) word out like job ads, video, paid media, careers events, employee reviews, careers websites and social media. Recruitment marketing builds employer brand awareness, and proves that it is as good as it seems! So there is a difference between employer brand and recruitment marketing. But in practice they’re incredibly intertwined. One powers up the other. It’s like a loop - tell the stories, the stories reinforce the brand, and then the next stories are even better! #EmployerBranding #RecruitmentMarketing #TalentStrategy

As a relatively new concept in the business world, employer brand or talent brand has notoriously been a function without an obvious home. Some argue forcefully it should be housed under TA or HR, while others insist it belongs under marketing, as one “face” of a more encompassing master or parent brand. Regardless of where it lives, one thing is clear — as the “front line” of the TA function, recruiters are an important (and often first) human touch point in delivering against an organization’s employer brand promise. This can be equal parts exciting and overwhelming to recruiters, who are often tasked with the pressing demands of filling open seats, while having little to no formal employer brand education. Where is a recruiter to begin? Dig in to Martin Predd's most recent post on the Change State blog to help cut through the confusion and misconceptions. While it’s by no means exhaustive, it provides a great starting point for recruiters serious about taking their talent brand skills to the next level. #employerbranding #talentinsights #recruitmentmarketing #EVP #talentacquisition https://lnkd.in/gWbabyP7
