May is a bustling month for advocacy, particularly as we intensify our efforts to educate about drowning prevention. Amid these crucial endeavors, let’s remember that May is also Mental Health Awareness Month. This time is dedicated to recognizing how chronic stress, burnout, unresolved issues, and trauma can affect everyone’s well-being—from children to adults, and across families, organizations, and communities. Mental Health Awareness Month underscores the necessity of checking in on not only our friends and loved ones but also on ourselves. Consider instituting a regular self-check by pondering: "How am I, really?" I encourage you to share your thoughts below. Let's offer mutual support and understanding in our community. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 #mayismentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthsupport

📢To conclude our World Mental Health Day series, we are emphasising the importance of survivor voices in shaping the support they receive. By placing lived experience at the centre of services, we can create a more responsive and effective framework of mental health support for all those impacted by domestic abuse. 🌟SafeLives’ Public Health Approach encourages professionals to actively listen to and incorporate survivor feedback into service design. When survivors feel their voices are heard and their experiences acknowledged, they are more likely to engage with support services and enjoy lives free from abuse. 🌠Through trauma-informed recovery and emotional support, survivors can feel heard, understood and supported to recovery. #SurvivorVoice #TraumaInformedCare #PublicHealthApproach #WorldMentalHealthDay #DomesticAbuse Learn more - https://ow.ly/9tMe50TINWT

Mental Health Awareness Month, observed annually during May, is an opportune time to fight stigma, provide support, increase awareness, and remind individuals of the services and resources available to the millions of people impacted by mental health issues. The green ribbon is the international symbol of mental health awareness. Wear one to show colleagues, loved ones, or simply those you walk past that you care about their mental health. Green signifies new life, new growth, and new beginnings. Therefore, we wear green ribbons to raise public awareness, better the lives of children with severe emotional disorders, and show our support for these children and their families. 1949, the National Mental Health Association declared May Mental Health Month. 💚 #mayismentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters
