When asked about their breastfeeding goals, many parents express doubts and lack confidence in their ability to make milknand tp directly breastfeed. Despite this, my data has shown that 85% of women initiate breastfeeding, with 65-85% exclusively breastfeeding upon discharge from the hospital.
So then, where do these fears stem from? Aggressive formula marketing, inadequate maternity leave, availability of pumps, and misinformation are major factors in the US that impact breastfeed exclusivity and duration. However, lactation support and prenatal education can significantly change a mother's breastfeeding journey.
Parents informed about the early days, milk production, and skills such as proper latch, positioning and hand expression are more confident and successful. That’s why I created the eBook "How to Navigate the Top 7 Breastfeeding Challenges" to provide essential information and support. It's like taking your hospital IBCLC home with you.🤱🏼
For parents preparing to breastfeed, my advice is simple: get educated.
📢 What parents are saying: "There is so much in this eBook, I didn't know! I had no idea colostrum was so high in calories, I was always so confused at how the small amounts of colostrum were enough for my baby."
