Caring for a loved one is a rewarding and demanding task in and of itself, but LGBTQIA caregivers often face unique challenges that add an extra layer of complexity to the role. Whether it’s LGBTQIA caregivers or their loved ones who are LGBTQIA caregivers, Grayce and our dedicated Care Partners are here to help identify some of the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQIA community and provide resources to support caregivers’ well-being. In honor of "National LGTBQIA Health Awareness" week, we wrote a blog on 4 key ways that employers can empower their LGTBQIA employees to create a more inclusive and supportive work environment. 🏳️🌈 Read here: https://lnkd.in/d6K5fhxf If supporting employees with family care in the LGBTQIA community is a priority, discover the difference Grayce can make. #Grayce #LGBTQIAHealthAwareness #EmployerSupport #LGBTQIACaregivers #DiversityandInclusion #DEI #EmployeeWellness #Caregiving #Inclusivity #VitalVibrantVoices

And that’s a wrap! 😍 As I process the important, inspiring #SDOH discussions from the American Public Health Association annual conference, I am also reflecting on the heightened awareness to diversity, equity, inclusion, and #accessibility. Some of these features I noticed include: 🔔 Getting around (close to public transit, venue with elevators and large aisles, maps and signage for wayfinding) 🔔Gender neutral bathrooms 🔔Badge stickers for pronouns 🔔Closed captioning and ASL interpretation with backup interpreters 🔔Breastfeeding stations 🔔30 min breaks and quiet rooms for sensory considerations 🔔Medical staff on-site 🔔Hybrid options It was heartening to see that accessibility was considered and integrated into the conference infrastructure, rather than as something extra and burdensome (and I benefited from the Curb-Cut Effect of it too! https://lnkd.in/gYDvGY7f). Do you notice inclusive features at conferences and events?? Do you promote accessibility at your own company? What other features would you like to see? 🤔 #APHA2023 #publichealth
