The main issue w/ hematuria is clot retention causing urinary retention, which can be diagnosed via either Ultrasound imaging of the bladder vs. inserton of an indwelling catheter To clear the clots, consider a large bore/ single lumen catheter to flush them all out, followed by a triple lumen catheter for maintenance irrigation The Continuous bladder irrigation−CBI catheter lumen is not large enough to clear clots, simply acting to prevent clots from forming (prophylaxis) knowmedicine.net

There was a webinar last night on dental lasers that needs clarification, specifically regarding the use of the Er,Cr:YSGG laser (Biolase, EdgePro) for laser assisted irrigation in endodontic treatment. It was stated that the YSGG lasers when used with water inside the root canal system will lead to burn marks. However, the images that were shown to illustrate this were NOT done with water or irrigating solutions. They were done DRY! Hence, the charring and burn marks on the dentin walls. This picture clearly shows that those teeth were cut DRY.
