October 1st marked the start of a new era as the FLC's elected Board members took office for a two-year term including FLC Board Chair, Whitney Hastings from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). 21 years after starting my practice with my partner, best friend, and other “professional half” Jack, he passed away from pancreatic cancer. I was left spinning, balancing the loss of a cherished friend and feeling the weight of the world in trying to carry on and grow the practice. The next few years were hard. I didn’t know exactly what to do, but I knew I had to find a way to steer the ship in the right direction. That’s when we started writing. We published “Handbook of Fraud Deterrence”, and then we published “Private Equity-Governance & Operations” and slowly, and through a lot of hard work, we found our footing again and kept moving forward. Growth often comes from those unexpected places we find ourselves in. And while grief is heavy, there is hope when we dare to keep moving forward. #Hope #Growth #Partnership #Author
