How can non-profits tackle structural inequalities? Go to the source. From our view, a good non-profit does three things well. It addresses specific structural flaws in society, it brings attention to the flaw and it plans to fix it permanently, it plans for its own obsolescence. In other words, a non-profit shouldn’t be part of a “never-ending” industry. The point is that whatever problem is being highlighted should be solved, not just constantly treated. If we give just one young person the skills to build their CV, to engage with their community, to learn how to write applications for potential-unlocking roles, then we’ve done our job. It’s not about an unequal relationship where the people you serve don’t get empowered to stand on their own two feet. If a non-profit doesn’t do that, it’s probably part of the problem. It becomes part of the furniture surrounding the structural issue, not a means to fix it. What do you think? #nonprofits #kanda #mutualaid

Non-profit organisations (NOPs) benefit communities as they are not motivated by financial gain to provide services to those that need them the most. Non-profits ensure that the essence of basic humanity in service delivery is maintained and hence contribute to the Humen Development Index to its beneficiaries and maintaining human dignity in the process. In most cases NOPs will assist in filling the gaps created by delivery of programs to suit a specific demography whose needs would otherwise be ignored when an all size fits all approach is used.

Partnership opportunities allow us to efficiently collaborate towards achieving the shared goal of uplifting underserved communities. 🚀 Our ideal partners are 👉 Other Nonprofits, Service Providers, Community Organizations, Training & Resource Centers, Schools & Colleges, Parent-Teacher Organizations, Financial Institutions. Some of our partnership ideas are 👇 1. Share tangible assets (i.e. meeting rooms, staff, learning materials) 2. Share intangible assets (i.e. information, training, network) 3. Give presentations to each other's organizations (for example, you can lead workshop for the parents of our students) 4. Provide services to each other's constituents (for example, E.R.E. provides tutoring to the youth in your program) 5. Collaborate on joint grant applications 6. Compose Letters of Support for each other 7. Create joint events, programs, or other efforts with shared funding, resources, and responsibilities 𝘊𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦.
