Women's Day is just peeking around the corner! How are we celebrating the amazing women in our lives and workplaces this Women's Day? 🎉 I had a quick chat with a friend yesterday, and oh boy, the insights were just too funny to keep to myself! 😂 He was like, "Hey, you ladies are getting all the treats, huh? The company goes the extra mile, showering you with gift hampers and whatnot. But us guys? Oh, we get a soft email of appreciation, if we're lucky! 😂" Can you believe that? But what do you really want from a company on Men's Day? 🤔 I mean, a gift is a gift, right? 😂 Some companies probably dole out pens at least! 🖊️ But here's the juicy bit, why do many companies seem to celebrate women more? Is it because we're just that awesome? Or is there a secret agenda to it all? 🤫 Firstly, women bring so much to the table, from creativity to leadership skills, multitasking abilities to empathy. We practically run the world, don't we? 💁♀️ So, it's only fair we get some extra love on our special day! (hmmm , maybe) but definitely we deserve the day. But hey,There's plenty of room for everyone in the celebration game. Maybe it's time we spice up Men's Day with a little more pizzazz? Hoodies? Notebooks? What do you say? 😄 Make some wishlist for Men's Day gifts! Who knows, maybe the companies are listening! 😉 Regardless of the gender lets make it worthwhile . Happy pre-Women's Day, everyone! Let the festivities begin! #womensday

Founder @Life Design Circle - I create tools and online programs for professionals across industries to reinvent their jobs and lives
Once a year, on this day, flower shops (and not only) thrive, all thanks to women: but are roses truly a gesture of appreciation or self-indulgence? We often believe we give gifts to bring OTHERS joy. Yet, it can become a self-centred act of gratifying our OWN senses: → Gifting roses allows US to appreciate beauty. → Purchasing perfumes indulges OUR sense of smell. → Preparing a special meal satisfies OUR taste buds. Indeed, femininity possesses the remarkable power to elevate the senses: it's subtle, gentle, and often overlooked. However, genuine appreciation for someone lies in our willingness to sacrifice for THEIR benefit. It´s all about empowerment, equality and above all, respect. Cherishing women is about: → fair compensation for their work → sharing the household duties → respecting their boundaries and autonomy → supporting their professional growth Roses are great, but respect is priceless. Don’t put your money in the pockets of salesmen. Today of all days ask women around you how they enjoy to be treated instead. Happy International Women’s Day! #internationalwomensday2024 #empowerment #femininity

If you are a founder/marketer trying to celebrate Women's Day, you need to check this before you take your "Happy Women's Day" posts live! Here's the thing. This #WomensDay...you will see a lot of performative campaigns! Yep, organizations with boys clubs and glass ceilings will come to celebrate you today and, in the same breath, say, "Oh, but we don't get #MensDay!" The others will try to make you feel like you are the only girl in the world (yes, Rihanna reference) by showering you with gift cards and discount vouchers. But does your campaign pass the #authentic vibe check? These questions might help you assess better: 1. Does the ad feature #women (including non-binary people and trans women) of all races, colors, and sizes with well-rounded personalities of their own? Do they all get to own their narrative? 2. Does your ad have any stereotypes or inappropriate jokes about women? Do the women in your ad become their heroes by breaking through these #stereotypes? 3. Do you pay the women on your team fairly? Do you have workplace policies to ensure their #safety and well-being? 4. How many women participated in creating this campaign? Rather, how many are in key decision-making roles in your organization? 5. Is this a one-day campaign to position your product or an ongoing mission to build an inclusive brand? We, women, are tired of performative "happy" wishes. We need bliss, which lasts longer than Women's Day Campaigns. P.S.: A stellar long list of questions is also available on Indian Creative Women, led by Sakshi Choudhary (I'm linking it in the comments below). I hope it helps! What would you add to this list? How does your organization celebrate Women's Day? Let me know in the comments below. #IWD24

Creative ideas for underdogs | Building social-good agency Society | Loves to wax lyrical about women's issues | Founder Creative Director | Society
Men, please go to female-focussed events. If you care about your wives, partners, mothers, sisters, daughters, cousins, female friends, GOOOOOO to the stuff they're going to. The talks on women's health. The women in the workplace workshops. The open-to-all but female-focussed networking stuff. Last night, I watched four phenomenal women take to the stage at SheSays Amsterdam (with the help of Equals). They shared their stories on the importance of giving and receiving help. They were raw. Honest. Articulate. Totally fucking inspiring. I took tons away from the event. Even asked a question as an audience member (which gives me all sorts of heebie jeebies normally!) But as things wrapped up, I found myself thinking: more men need to hear this stuff. First hand. I know it's hard to walk into a room full of women as one of only a very few men. Trust us, as women, we know. We've been alone in plenty of boardrooms. At events. In presentations. You get it. But it's worth the initial discomfort. You'll learn more about your female colleagues and loved ones in an hour than you do in a year. You'll give yourself the information you need to be a better human, and a better leader. And I'm not kidding, you're almost definitely way less likely to get cancelled for saying or doing something you didn't even know would be a problem. It's this simple. In the same way regular flying helps fearful flyers (like me) shit themselves less on planes... ....regular attendance at female-focussed events will help you understand women better. And who doesn't want a better understanding of nearly 50% of the world's population? Not you, right. It's not daunting. Promise. Start by 👉 Following Equals Following She Says Following Society (yes, cheeky plug) And following last night's boss She Says speakers and organisers: Jacqueline Bosselaar, Becky Nascimento, Helen King, Courtney Maywald Kerrie Finch Franca Cumbo. Then, grab a mate and get your arse to an event. It'll be worth it. #IED #FemaleEmpowerment #SheSays #Equals Stolen snap photo cred: Stephanie Kirk (cos I totally forgot to take one)

We seem to be missing the point of #internationalwomensday ... It's not: ❌ An opportunity for big brand discounts to drive their sales ❌ A one-off women-focused corporate social media post ❌ For the hashtag girlpower to trend, especially over this years theme ❌ A day where women deliver the highest number of free talks and workshops in the year ❌ The day of pink-washing It is: ✅ About the important theme of #InvestInWomen:Accelerate Progress ✅ An opportunity to reflect on the progress, or the lack of, another year on and creating impactful strategies WITH women going forward ✅ A chance to learn from women's experiences, expertise, voices and stories and pay them for it. In fact, this should be a high opportunity for paid work in the year. ✅ A day of rest for many women and women-led organisations who are simply putting in the work every other of the day of the year. As with anything, it's important for us to be intentional about what we do and how we engage. So it prompts the question, do we genuinely engage or just genuinely opt out? 🤔 Taking up room in the middle to promote image-saving agendas or for big brands to drive girl boss merch sales is adding to the idea and feeling that this day is a gimmick. When in reality, there are SO many important issues, challenges and reasons to celebrate that our collective and intentional focus should have us raising our awareness on, feeling more equipped for and taking action to ensure we are truly making the progress we say we are and should be in our world. That is until the time comes where we no longer need this day. But until then, I guess this is just a gentle reminder to stay intentional and remain focused this #IWD2024. #internationalwomensday #iwd #womensday #womensmonth

Is It Me? Series Breaks Ground: Uniting Women of Color to Tackle Workplace Challenges and Empower Career Growth The Is It Me? Series is an annual conference hosted by My Sister's Keeper. It focuses on MSK's pillar relative to supporting women in their professional development and success. Launched in 2023, the Is It Me? Series is already recognized as a one-of-a-kind safe space for women to validate their lived experiences, demystify the workplace, and acquire the tools to better navigate their professional journeys. The first installment took place July 29, 2023, at InnerSense Soul - a Black female-owned boutique in Mableton, GA. "It was important for us to partner with as many women of color as possible for the inaugural event. We were so lucky to find Sam Welton and her incredible boutique! Everything about her mission was aligned with MSK - it was kismet!" boasts Trice Stevenson-Wright, MSK's CEO & Founder. The venue itself was impeccably outfitted with art and imagery celebrating and empowering women. Food, drinks, and entertainment were also sourced from Black female-owned businesses and featured: Divine Drinks - IG @div.inedrinks P.S., It's Good! Boutique Catering - IG @psitsgoodatl Chic Charcuterie - IG @chic_charcuterieatl DJ Queen Entertainment Group - IG @djqueenent The evening was graced by a panel of four successful female professionals from various industries, led by MSK's CEO, Trice Stevenson-Wright. Each panelist presented a story of a challenge she faced during her professional journey and what she learned from it. There was incredibly engaging and candid discussion about what was really occurring in those situations, with an emphasis on understanding others' motivations in the workplace and how we as women of color can better recognize what's happening and navigate the scenarios. All the panelists came from very different industries; yet, each of their individual experiences resonated with the audience. MSK's CEO explains: "We were adamant on creating an environment where women felt safe to express both their frustrations and their triumphs. What we found was that many related to the stories being shared and had similar stories of their own. With frequent instances of 'that happened to me, too!' ... the validation alone produced a sense of healing. It was empowering to be able to have a no-B.S. conversation about our shared experiences and how to turn certain challenges into advantages. These ladies left the event with renewed confidence, as well as new friends, mentors, and allies who continue to offer guidance and support in their professional journeys - that was the goal." This event was more than just a gathering; it was a catalyst for ongoing dialogue and action that will undoubtedly continue to inspire and empower women in their professional endeavors.
