Today is Employee Appreciation Day!
I’m proud to work alongside Afrah U., Alison Byczok, Caitlyn Crews, Courtney Groot, John Lalley, Joshua Simpson, Karin McArthur, Lauren Stinson, Lynn Donald, Madeleine Dender, Marisa Ferlaino, Rachel Phan, Sarah Rouleau, Stacey Sleightholm, Véronique Brunette-Tremblay and Zarifa Sadeq, MBA to change what it is to be blind across Canada.
I’m also privileged to work with Andrew Galster, Christall Beaudry, MBA, Craig Peterson, Duane Morgan, Jeff deViller, Kyle J. Mason, Shoko Kitano, Suzanne Decary-van den Broek and Valérie Duchatel to champion The Way Forward, our latest strategic plan, in our communities from coast to coast to coast.
Today. Tomorrow. Together.
To change attitudes today, we must work to remove the largest barriers our community members face in their daily lives, including those created by inaccessible public transportation.
To change attitudes tomorrow, we must work harder to help break down barriers for the next generation of Canadians with sight loss, and provide them with the support they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.
To change attitudes together, we will amplify the voices of people who are blind and share their stories, loudly and proudly. Our community’s stories will engage people across the country – setting us on a path toward real change.
