🔴 Dear LinkedIn family, Let's Design & Develop for Safety and Change As designers and developers, we hold the power to create solutions that go beyond aesthetics—solutions that can protect, empower, and save lives. Today, I want to share with you a project that reflects this responsibility: RDAPP (Rape Detection Application), a conceptual UI/UX design aimed at providing immediate assistance to individuals in distress, particularly those at risk of sexual assault. 🔴 Why RDAPP? The recent tragic & the most horrendous incident that happened in Kolkata, India, where a woman was assaulted brutally, underscores the urgent need ⚠️for tools that can offer real-time protection and immediate response. RDAPP is designed with this critical need in mind, featuring: - Real-Time Syncing: Connect with nearby police stations within a 20KM radius to ensure rapid response. - SOS Alert System: Instantly notify emergency contacts and local authorities with a single tap. - Incident Reporting: Provide detailed incident information, including live location, video footage, and photos, to authorities and trusted contacts. - User-Centered Design: Prioritize ease of use and quick access to critical features in high-stress situations. 🔴 A Call to Action for Designers and Developers : The recent events in Kolkata remind us that our roles are more than just creating beautiful interfaces—we have a responsibility to design for safety, equity, and social good. I urge my fellow designers and developers across India to think about how we can collectively address issues like these through our work.
