Getting principals and athletic directors involved will help legitimize your program and they can help secure funding and resources. MSEL can also help: we offer a holistic solution to scholastic esports. Consider giving your program its best chances at success by pairing it with esports courses from the inception, either offered during the school day or as an after school program. Check out our Gaming Concepts courses to learn more about this–and how you can leverage these courses to receive funds for your program! On Friday I hosted U-TAAC’s second monthly discussion “Accessibility in Video Games”. 🎮💛 As most people know I have always loved playing video games. Though, due to the demands of being a university student, I rarely find time to play anymore. I was excited to find a way to implement my love of video games in an academic setting through this discussion. Hosting this discussion was extremely meaningful to me as it combined two of the things I’m most passionate about: video games and accessibility. I had the privilege to speak alongside Anisa Dahir who has a large involvement in esports within UofT and building community among students who play League of Legends . In this conversion, we discussed how different video games have made revolutionary advancements in terms of accessibility features, while also acknowledging what we can focus on in the future to continue to make games accessible. Additionally, we discussed ways to justify the implementation of accessibility features to game developers that prioritize financial gain and debated whether allowing all esports players to use accessibility features serves as an unfair advantage. We came to the conclusion that accessibility in video games is meant for everyone and consequently, should be an essential consideration in game development.

🎓⚖️ Balancing School and Competitive Gaming 🎮🚀 Despite misconceptions about gamers, I'm proud to break stereotypes as a law student who's passionate about competitive gaming, particularly Rocket League. In essence, balancing studies with competitive gaming isn't about sacrificing one for the other. It's about integrating different areas of life harmoniously. By embracing my passions and managing my time effectively, I thrive both in the the class and on the pitch. Gaming motivates me and sharpen the skills I need to be better in the classroom. #LawStudent #Gamer #Balance #Passions #TimeManagement #Success #Corsair #Elgato
