Here is the video illustrating my poem, "Old Glory".
"Old Glory" should grab every American's heart ... as it is a constant, proud ... reminder of an ... iconic flag ... cherished by every generation of our beloved USA ... since July 4, 1776!

I have not clinically died, nor have I been run over by a snowplow, but this guy has! I encourage you all to watch until the end, because the message is not "everyone needs to run super fast/far" nor is the message "you need to push yourself to the absolute limit". Brooks has taken the stance that everyone has that moment where you no longer are the best, or the top, or as good as you'd like to be, AND THATS OK, as long as you're taking the next step towards wherever you want to get to, that's a win. I recently took my annual Physical Fitness Test for the Marines, one of two tests every Marine is required to complete (and pass) annually. I was (and still am) very disappointed with my performance but after feeling sorry for myself for a few hours (yes hours), I reminded myself that I could do something about it, and set to building my plan to achieve my goal score next time. What are your goals, do you have a plan to get there? #resilience #goals #Marines #planning

In the inaugural issue of our new section, Steel Age Gentleman, Scott Howard challenges the Bronze Age Mindset head-on for enabling a manliness of crass decadence, irreverence, and hedonism, and calls for the cultivation of true manliness involving the chivalrous notions of duty, reverence, and self-sacrifice. https://lnkd.in/g6PF75Ve

Men! Did you know that recognizing and embracing your role as a Christian man in the world is crucial? You are called to lead with intention and strength, to be fearless in your faith, and to stand firm in your beliefs. Your life's mission extends beyond personal ambitions; it's about serving others and being a guiding light. Understanding your purpose starts with seeking God's guidance through prayer and meditating on His Word. https://fb.me/e/4muA2NTuZ

PRESIDENT FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT An Excerpt from His Annual Message to Congress January 6, 1941 In the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms: The first is freedom of speech and expression - everywhere in the world. The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way - everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want- which, translated into universal terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants- - everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear- which, translated into world terms, means a worldwide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor- anywhere in the world. That is no vision of a distant millennium. It is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation.

Winning small battles within the overarching context of a larger war underscores the paramount significance of strategic patience. In the grand theater of warfare, it is often the accumulation of these incremental triumphs that paves the way for ultimate victory. Strategic patience, as a guiding principle, advocates for a deliberate, measured approach in the pursuit of broader objectives. It encompasses the wisdom of understanding that immediate gratification may yield temporary gains, but true success lies in the capacity to endure setbacks, embrace setbacks as opportunities for learning and adaptation, and persistently advance toward long-term goals.💯✅💗👇

Did you know?..."The first daytime parade in New Orleans took place in 1872, and as the Russian Grand Duke Alexis Romanoff was visiting at the time, it was decided to use the Romanoff family colours of purple, green and gold as the official colors of the Carnival. Purple stands for justice; gold for power; and green for faith." Learn more about the history of #MardiGras at https://lnkd.in/eeGgK3QK

🇺🇸 #NeverForget 🇺🇸 Today marks the 22nd anniversary of 9/11, a day that forever changed our lives. It's crucial that we pause to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost in the tragic events of that day. 9/11 taught us the resilience of the human spirit, the power of unity, and the importance of coming together as a nation. In the face of adversity, we saw countless acts of heroism and selflessness. As we pay tribute to the fallen, let's also reflect on how this day shaped our world. It underscored the need for vigilance, strengthened our commitment to freedom, and highlighted the value of empathy and understanding in an increasingly interconnected world. Let's ensure that the memory of 9/11 lives on, not just as a reminder of the pain and loss, but as a symbol of our enduring strength, unity, and hope for a better future. #September11 #UnitedWeStand #NeverForget911 🇺🇸🗽🙏
