I sharpened my competitive selling skills. ➕ Gained account management experience. However, healthcare was calling my name because of my science degree. If you don’t know…I’m a science nerd. Yes 🙌 𝟕 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐛: 1️⃣ Committed to my decision. 2️⃣ Made a short list of target companies. 3️⃣ Identified what these firms were looking for. 4️⃣ Researched their employees, customers, and competitors. 5️⃣ Updated my resume with skills & strengths that are transferable to medical sales. 6️⃣ Networked and formed relationships with individuals within the companies that I wanted to work. 7️⃣ REPEAT: Learn Prepare Practice These efforts yielded a Rewarding Medical Sales Job. I know, everyone wants employers to give them a job in 3 days... It’s disrespectful if they don’t 🤪 but there's so many factors and variables that stand in the way. You should get it in your mind that 3 months from first hand shake… to first day of work… is reasonable. For the “exception to every rule” crowd…. I hear ya. But… Nobody is trying to disrespect anyone, but everyone should have a bit of grace to the process. Great jobs and working for great leaders are well worth the wait. Don't think like a rep and stare at the end of your nose here.... Think like a future leader in the organization and get your eyes on the horizon.
