This week's fundamental is "Check Your Ego at the Door". Be a servant leader by prioritizing the needs of others and setting aside your personal pride. Make decisions that advance our team goals and benefit our stakeholders. Here is a perspective from one of our team members: "This week, let's focus on checking our egos at the door. We are strongest when we work as a team. Checking our egos doesn't mean hiding our personalities or unique traits; these are our strengths. However, it's important to think 'Big Picture' and not take things personally. Decisions and actions are made to advance and better our Company, not to target any individual. There is no competition between individuals or departments. We are here to help and support one another as a cohesive unit with a shared vision and mission. We are here to serve, and this extends to everyone, managers and non-managers alike. Our goal is to serve our colleagues, investors, residents, and the communities we operate in. By adopting this mindset and sense of humility, we can achieve more, avoid conflicts, and create a win-win situation for everyone. When we act in the best interests of our stakeholders, we improve ourselves. This principle applies to all aspects of our lives." *The content of this text only expresses the ideas and vision of its author, and not of Stoneweg US. #culturewise #fundamental #corporateculture

Culture isn't just the cherry on top, it's the whole breakfast! 🍳 Why? Let's dive into what Justin Mecham has brilliantly laid out: Respect 👂: Don't just hear; LISTEN. You've got two ears and one mouth for a reason. Everyone's voice is a precious tune in the symphony of ideas. Support 🤲: Be the person who's always ready to lend a helping hand. Guide, assist, and invest in the superstar potential of every team member. Recognition 🎉: Celebrate the wins, big and small. Shower personalized praise and watch your team shine. Unity 🌍: Initiate those Friday night team-buildings, establish goals that need all hands on deck. Together, we can move mountains. Empowerment 🌟: Give your team autonomy and inspire leadership. Accountability is not a burden; it's a badge of honor. Communication 📢: Let information flow freely; feedback is your best friend. And remember, improvement is a journey, not a destination. Work-Life Harmony ⚖️: Adapt, encourage, repeat. Let's blur the line between work and play. Work shouldn't be a life sentence; it's a life experience. Trust 🛡️: And last but not least, trust. Be the rock of consistency your team leans on. Make your words a safe haven for vulnerability and honesty. This, my friends, is the power of culture. Let's make work more than just work. Let's make it a culture that nourishes and enriches us. Who's with me? Repost ♻️ this or share it with someone who needs to see it.

Hello network! Dropping by to never forget the impact we can be in our companies. While doing it, being mindful that it depends on us on how we want to set the mood of the day for our team and ourselves. Maybe, it might require to be vulnerable and open up with our team, getting out of your comfort zone. Or listening to them even when we might not understand the pain they might be going through. Although, it might seem hard to practice it everyday. It highly recommended to always reflect back on the work we are doing and the team we are building with our actions. #empatheticleadership #sodexotraining #beingtruthful #creatingbettertogether

It's National Popcorn Day! 🍿 Popcorn happens to be my favorite food. It reminds me of people. People are like the kernels in a bag of popcorn - each unique, yet contributing to the collective outcomes of your team. Much like the heat that transforms kernels into popcorn, a supportive environment can bring out the best in individuals. Encourage collaboration, foster creativity, and watch your team members explode with ideas, effort, and promise. Remember, not everyone "pops" at the same time or with the same heat. As a leader, you need to adapt your approach to get the best from each unique individual. Acknowledge and celebrate the individual journeys within your team. Patience and understanding create a resilient culture. Just as there's an array of popcorn flavors, embrace different perspectives – it's the secret ingredient to a well-rounded and dynamic group. Let your team's unique strengths pop to perfection! 🌟

Embracing #simplicity is a powerful virtue that can take one on an incredible journey. You don’t need complex frameworks to foster a sense of belonging within the team, rather the simple acts of kindness, #compassion and #authenticity can create a ripple effect with a lasting positive impact. Simple yet impactful actions will lay the groundwork for trust in workplace relationships, enabling an environment that is filled with kindred spirits. - Put your ego in the back seat. Let it be a passenger not the driver - Be kind to yourself and also to people around you. Often, we are unaware of what battles others are fighting - Raise your hand when someone seeks support and also seek assistance when you are in need - Focus on building connections. A simple ‘Hello’ ‘Hi’ bridges the distance and enables connections that endures Look at the larger picture of trust and harmony these simple actions can paint. A masterpiece of shared efforts, harmonious kindred spirits coming together that further creates a workplace culture that thrives on #authenticity and mutual support. #senseofbelonging #leadership #simplicity #teamwork #teamconnection #workplaceculture #workplaceconnections #leadershipdevelopment #authenticity #authenticleadership #compassionateleadership

As we start a new month, let's take a pause and make a commitment of prioritizing 'honesty', not just for yourself but also for everyone around you. Cultivating a team with a growth mindset requires unwavering honesty. This means fostering an environment where honest feedback is not just accepted but actively sought after. Every team member plays a role in creating a safe space for open communication, allowing concerns to be raised without fear of negativity. While some conversations may be uncomfortable, they ultimately strengthen trust and respect within the team. By addressing issues head-on through honest discussions, the team becomes more cohesive, effective, and wise. #quote #foodforthought #inspiration

During an exercise where we shared moments of feeling discouraged, one person expressed, "When I felt that my efforts were not recognized at work." 🙁 Lately, we've been writing about keeping employees engaged within organizations. Engaged employees bring countless benefits 🏆, including higher profitability and a safer, more efficient operation. Numerous factors influence engagement, and one of them is our perception of how much our peers respect or admire us - our "sociometric status." 👨👩👧👦 When we feel valued by our colleagues, it ignites a sense of commitment and energy. We become more engaged, productive, and positive. This feeling is even more powerful when appreciation and respect come from our leaders 🙌. You probably experienced moments at work when you felt like you were without support and recognition. Keep this feeling from spreading around your organization. Sociometric status has more effect on engagement than socioeconomic aspects. As a leader, you may provide good benefits to your team, but the impact will be limited if you don't praise their work 🤔. You can start now with this powerful booster. Being kind and appreciative costs zero and has a fantastic return 🚀. Lastly, we want to address the unfortunate reality of toxic work environments. Sometimes, the culture is so damaged that kindness doesn't flow. However, remember that such cultures can be healed. Don't give up. Speak up about the issue and seek assistance in creating positive change 💪. ✅ How much do you praise your workmate’s appreciation? Is it important for you? ✅ Do you have any experience to share? Thank you for reading, and have a fantastic day! 👋 #lightvalleyco #culturechange #servantleadership

Beating around the bush kills culture. More accurate to say that it kills GOOD culture. Even more accurate to say that it creates low vulnerability, low trust culture that makes fixing anything really painful and difficult. Two good rules I try to follow (and ask of the team): 1. Speak the truth. Plain and direct. We don't need to fear the truth. Just say it. 2. If someone says something you don't like, you can't act like a jerk or a child about it. If the elephant is in the room, just address it. Cut to the chase.

“What do I need to do differently?” - That’s what I ask myself when there’s an internal issue. If someone is struggling with a task, how can we support them? If they hate doing it completely, how can we transition them away from it? I can’t sit by and watch my team stress out day in, day out, doing something that they really don’t enjoy. Of course, there’s times at work where we have to do jobs that are tedious or less fun, but if you keep handing work to people than drains them - they’re going to: 1️⃣ Be consistently unhappy 2️⃣ Feel like they’re not listened to 3️⃣ Be way less productive It’s not good for your people, your output or your retention rates. Culture goes way beyond a snack drawer or an extra day off for your birthday (though we do have those 💅). It’s about staying open and in touch with your team, listening to their concerns and actually taking meaningful action. P.S... we moved office yesterday, so enjoy this last mirror selfie 🤳 #Leadership #Culture #Team
