SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute’s Post

Very inspiring to see concrete impact of the LoCoFoRest training SIWI's experts provided a few weeks ago. Creating change, one tree 🌳 , one drop at a time 💧, all over the world. 🌐 Thanks for sharing your experience Quoc Dung Phan.

Doctoral Student in Forest Governance

LoCoFoRest in Jönköping, Sweden 2024! In order to find out the ways how to scale up restoration of forest landscapes while securing the prosperity of local communities and maintaining and improving ecosystem services, we, the participants of LoCoFoRest CR4, did have a chance for landing in Sweden and learning a lots with Skogsstyrelsen, The Eco-innovation Foundation and SIWI - Stockholm International Water Institute We were not only inspired with new ideas related to Forest landscape restoration, but also introduced to Swedish habits and culture. 10 days of training bring me a profound understanding of how good governance, sustainable value chains and support to ecosystem services contribute to sustainable and scalable forest and landscape restoration. We are now ready to work with our own Change Projects (CPs ) which purpose is to identify specific barriers and opportunities for successful forest restoration, gather relevant stakeholders to discuss important factors, and investigate collaborative solutions. Vietnamese team will establish 2 different CPs which focus on acacia forest and mangroves. Final report will be judged in Thailand next year, and I will keep updating about this exciting activities. #LoCoFoRest #FLR #Forestrestoration #communitybased
